Sorry, but I simply cannot resist the urge to make a point.

The US's drinking age is 21 because of Prohibition, most liekly, since we wanted to get rid of it for all. Why it isn't lowered is because of the responcability level of our teens. You know that lowering it would cause massive celebration. Celebration involving alcohol. Massive amounts of alcohol. That all makes for too many more alcohol poisoning victims and DUI crash victims. It's simply not worth the losses.

Anyway, I am 16 and haven't drunk more than wine (which I find way too bitter for me, anyway). I would try other stuff, but I don't have the chance because of the lack of close friends and the fact that my mom doesn't keep anything more than wine in the house. Trust me, if I couold get my hands on some stuff that tasted good, I'd drink it. Maybe not enough to get drunk, but I'd drink. Oh well.

WRONG! During Vietnam the drinking age was based upon state legislature and some states were 18, b/c they figured hell if you can sign up to die in a war, then maybe you should be able to have a good time. I don't know the exact reason it was bumped back up, but your explination is wrong.

Thanks for correcting me. I mostly just assumed what I said. Now I'll have to find out why it was bumped back up.

Guns =/= alcohol. Guns, aside from hunting or sport, are not used for fun or in excess. Alcohol is used in excess for fun on the other hand. After the first month or so, things would fall back to normal, but I doubt the people in control think it's worth it. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind seeing an 18 age minimum, but I don't think it's feasible now.
