Sacred armor hidden 5 absorb?
What does it absorb though?
Sacred Armor doesn't absorb anything. Did you hear this on bnet?
Sacred armor absorbs 5 , its a known hidden variable , shadow armor absorbs 2 , great hulp 1 , archon 1.
I have never heard of this before...can you post a link to a respectable website that lists this information?
I've never heard of or seen any hidden absorb associated with any armor. I've looked at all of the text files from D2_Patch.mpq. What is your source?
I won't believe this (and other people won't) until you tell us the source where you got this from.
AFAIC, this seems like something you heard off bnet.
I would assume everyone here is referring to d2data.net's info. Look here to see where people are getting the idea.
This mysterious absorb property can be found in the mpq archives. To the person who said they couldn't find it, you didn't look though all of them. The column being referenced to is not far along in the armor.txt file located in patch_d2.mpq. It is called 'absorbs'
AFAIK the absorb property does not actually work ingame. I believe it was supposed to act as a damage reduced by x modifier, but it never made it to the game code. Yes, the property is defined in an mpq archive, but that does not mean it exists ingame.
