Funny thing is i found a legit ohm yesterday, but it's worthless (unless i use it) cause i have no way to prove it's legit rofl.
Hold on to it, EndTheory. When everybody else's high rune poofs and yours stay, then it will be OBVIOUS that yours is a legit rune. Damn I can begin to imagine to value of those who actually kept high runes or who actually have legit high runeword items.

It bothers me some that the duped runes are disappearing because, like most everyone else, I lost a lot to get them. What I'm really going to be mad about is if I lose the item as well. For example, I found a sweet superior Great Hauberk with 572 defense and three sockets. Of course, I made Enigma with it.

Take the runes....just don't take my armor.....PLEASE !!!!

Unless you have done an extensive “market research†about what drives the Diablo market/economy, your comment displays tremendous ignorance on your part hence making you the only idiot around here. Rune dupers and people who trade for duped runes are not the only factors that drive the Diablo 2 economy. Legit traders, legit Mfers, Botters, people who trade for botted items, people who are currently using the gold bug, people who collect all sorts of digglers like Usu and Suggestive and trade them for high runes, are all part of the equation.
The economy I was referring to was simply the duped rune economy since that is what is what we're talking about.

You can argue that rune dupers and those who buy from them are the main culprits. Perhaps that is true but unless you can prove beyond reasonable doubt that it is and back it up with reliable/verifiable evidence then try not to look like an idiot by flaming people unnecessarily.

I can assure you that Wolv is no idiot or moron. He was simply pointing out his idea and it is you who can’t seem to deal with the truth: For as long as playing on Bnet continues to be free, therefore no funds are adequately generated to hire people to make it better, it will continue to have flaws and there will be people who will exploit these flaws, and there will be those who will trade with this people for whatever reasons they may have.
My flames were never directed at wolv so next time don't assume cause you know what you are when you do. I was simply commenting on those that did these things.

See, you know there's a little something wrong with the economy when a good 3 socket NORMAL (White) armor is worth more to people than the INSANELY RARE runes in it. Not saying anything about it, just strikes me as kinda funny. :)

Let me help you out a bit and post the first rule of these forums:

1. Thou Shalt Not Flame. Even if you strongly hate the content of a post, and detest the individual to whom you're responding so strongly you dream of seeing Carvers playing softball with his internal organs, please exercise restraint and post without flames. (You are allowed, however, to make rude facial expressions and socially unacceptable hand gestures as you press "submit.") Do not bypass the word filter.

Your behaviour is judged not just here, but elsewhere. If you slander or libel this site or the site staff on another website, forum, or by other public means, your membership in RPGForums.Net may be terminated without notice.

And I will reiterate once again that it was not a flame on wolv but if he took it as one I apologize.

vanfanel, you cannot possibly compartmentalize diablo 2 economy, it just doesn't work that way. it's like trying to analyze the US Economy and say that gray marketeering (products shipped illegally from other countries into the US) do not affect it somehow. whether we like it or not, one of the reasons why rune duping came about is because of the fact that when 1.10 came out, there was never an established currency like the SOJs in 1.08/1.09. The rune duping (as much as it sucks) started to create a rune currency that IMO really hasn't helped much either but has greatly affected how things are traded, especially value-wise.

if you weren't directing your flames to Wolv then why did you leave his quote on your response. sorry i took it at face value. but please avoid flaming at all costs. that is the surest way to lose respect in these forums.

I quoted his response because there were a number of responses since his post so I wanted to make sure my reply wasn't confused with some other post.

What keeps the dupers alive IMHO are the people that are paying real money for runes. Would they work so hard at duping just to trade for other items?

It seems as if many people would say that it is the dealers/dupers that Blizzard should go after because, they are the ones at fault.

I bet they would say that it is the users that create a demand and, that they only provide a product for that demand.

Personally im rather frightened that my runeword stuff will dissappear...Lucky for me I'm a packrat and still have much of my non runeword stuff. Hell I still have the "smoke" runewords i made in 09 (this has gotta be one of the most underrated runewords in existance!)
