How do u guys get so many ists?
In hell difficulty or somethin like that?:S

Ists, like most high runes, have been duped a lot, and that's why there's so many of them and they're used as currency on the ladder.

Otherwise, your best bet would be to make runs on The Countess in hell, in the tower of the Act1 Black Marsh. She has the highest chance of dropping runes up to Gul. She can drop higher runes as well, up to Lo, but not at the best chance of dropping them.

ist runes actually have not been dupped a lot. that is why its generally safe to trade for them online rather than for vex-zod. most ppl just do countess runs, hell forge runs, and other stuff in hell difficulty. the fastest way to obtain a lot of ist runes is just to trade for them. enigmas and botds go for several ist runes each depending on their quality

no, there is no way to tell if it is a dupe or not. If it is a dupe, it will disappear within a few hours i believe. Put it into a runeword to make it safer. not sure if it will poof while in a runeword.

All high runes are "real", in that they can be used for their mods or in runewords. It's just that because some of them are duped, they may disappear soon or later. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell which are dupes and which are not, when dealing with runes.

it is possible for a duped rune to poof in a runeword. or if the ruststorm hits it, the whole item disappears, i believe

yes there was a ruststorm last ladder season...alot of people lost runewords....if i remember correctly....west was hit first

Well, I have the same problem aquiring runes. The only runes higher than UM that I have ever aquired is through trade.
I have done countless hell countess runs and even more cow runs....really makes me wonder about those who have the godly rune words.

so if countess isnt the best to do for high runes like Lo, what is?

For Lo in particular, Andariel on the first kill will have the best chance of dropping it.
