rune finding making question

Hey so is it even worth making a ladder character soley for the sake of doing countess runs for runes and trying to cube high runes? Anyone have any stories of finding good runes off the countess or how long it took to finally make a zod with the cube? The best runes I've found were all in cow runs: vex, gul and jah.

Areas with lots of monsters/chests that you can kill/open quickly are good. Cows and lower Kurast are best. A lightning 'zon for cows might be your best bet.

Go clear a high level place in Hell and hope for a good rune to pop out. Countess is only good for low to mid level runes, and will only drop high runes only once in a great while.

Correct me if i'm wrong.... I calculated that on the ladder it would take 1,428,213,952,296 El runes to cube a Zod. Someone spell that number out!

daaaaaang,.... For all you stats hounds out there, how many gems would you need for all that transmuting as well?

if you get one El rune every 2 minutes, it would take some serious thousand millon years of gameplay to cube a Zod...
human race would be extinct by then

I just Found a Vex rune on a Countess minion and found Mal last week And i am not the fastest player ( It's take me like 5 min minimum.)

its funny every ladder season this question comes up, last ladder season this was what i found in a total of 250 runs, I made alot more than that but i just tracked these 250. runes higher that ko.

ko - 6
fal - 4
lem - 4
pul - 2
um - 1
mal - 2
ist - 3

The best runs of all of them was
ko + ko + fal + 2 lower runes, I got a screenie of it somewhere.
the secon best run was
mal + pul and nothing else dropped not even a minor healing potion, LOL that was a funny drop to, non of the minions dropped anything and when I hit the alt key to see what was on the ground there laid those two runes, wierd.

actually the chance of a minor helaing potion dropping is 1/73660 (in one player game), so no wonder that it didnt drop with mal pul

lol that was meant as more of a joke part of it, considering that nothing else dropped. so lets say a super healing potion, or gold for that matter. Nothing but those two runes were there.
