Rumor confirm/refute: Deleting battle.net cache to aid with FTJ

Someone on b.net who I recently friended said that a possible solution to help with lag and Fail To Join issues was to purge the battle.net cache. I took his advice with a grain of salt since deleting anything someone on the internet tells you to delete is a brilliant idea /sarcasm

Is this true? Could it possibly help? Would one delete the entire folder's contents or be selective? Is it dangerous to attempt? What's the deal, yo?

Not sure, but there shouldn't be any issues with deleting the bncache.dat file as Blizzard recommends doing it in any event of crashes or issues with battle.net. Whether it helps with the FTJ though is a different story.

You shouldn't need to delete anything relating to entire folder contents. The bncache.dat file is only 1 file in the D2 installation directory and is the only one you need to look at in this regards.

Thanks, I might as well try and see if it helps out.

    Didn't do anything for me.
