RIP: Frank Gorshin

Although best known for his role as The Riddler in the campy 60's Batman series, as well as his Emmy-nominated guest role in the original Star Trek's Let That Be Your Last Battlefield He should be known to Diablo fans as the voice of Marius and Lysander.

He died today at age 72. see the story here

Wow, didnt know what HBB.
*goes and says hi to lysander.* Now I know what the old fella sounded like.
RIP.
Being one of those nutty people who sits through the credits at the movies (I always hope to see a person I know from film school) I actually sat through all the Diablo credits when I first got the game and I immediately recognized Frank Gorshin's name. Saw that he died while reading an article about CBS cancelling Joan of Arcadia (sob)

I knew immediately upon hearing Lysander's voice that it was Gorshin. I watched waaaay too many Batman episodes as a kid, and Gorshin was one of my favorites. I did NOT know he was Marius, though. That was a fine piece of voice acting. To Frank Gorshin...may he rest in peace. :drink:

Wow that's a shame, may he rest in peace indeed.

P.S. Is it just me or does D2 have some extremely good voice acting?

Indeed it does. It seems to be a mix of professional actors and Blizzard employees (Or ex-employees. I think Bill Roper did a number of voices). I have a thing for good voice acting and tend to be able to pick out voice actors in various roles on some of the cartoons I watch. If a game's got bad voice acting, I don't have much tolerance. Blizzard has always been gifted with some great choices and outstanding casting for their games. Who hasn't clicked on a Starcraft or Warcraft unit a billion times to hear all their responses? Great stuff! :D
