Yeah, but what if the person who encrypted it got the answer wrong?
On a semi-related note, when your bank website or whatever asks you those horrific questions to retrieve your password like, "what is your mother's maiden name," it's a good idea to put down a completely unrelated answer because a lot of that info can be found within 5 minutes on Google, Facebook, etc. (IIRC, that's how that kid got into Palin's email). Better to keep a text file on your computer that says "answer to 'my mother's maiden name' question is the name of my first cat."
And, even better, just in case someone gets onto your computer, don't actually put "my first cat." Put a set of linkers that you remember easily. If your cat's name is "Mittens," that makes me think of snow skiing, which makes me think of water skiing, which makes me think of boat motors. So in my text file, I would put "answer to 'my mother's maiden name' is 'boat motors'," and pretty much nobody will get to "mittens" from "boat motors" if they get onto your computer.
