Not really, thanks to teleport. :) (Enigma for non-Sorc is generally a requirement to make it all the way IMO, but for Fishymancer even more so since it enables army positioning in the first place.)

I tested CS runs quite a bit at 97, but concluded it was worse XP than Baal or Nihlathak runs. With a godly shrine map it could be similar in terms of XP, but it's more dangerous, and the IG dies too often even with max GM... Overall I couldn't make it worthwhile, at least with the gear I had for Ric.
Loads of 99ers without teleport :D
My goal is to be 100% Enigma-free with any/all of my entrants in this. Yes, that probably will add a good deal of time to each entry (if said entries manage to stay alive long enough to worry about it), but it's a personal preference for me. :)

99 is a long journey anyway. Personally, I would prefer to take longer to do it but enjoy the ride. Fordyl about 4 years I think (nothing like the intensity of play in this tournament, very on and off), but I wouldn't change it. He just plugged away and that was fine. The road to 99 should not, perhaps counterintuitively, be rushed.

Hehe, yeah of course it's generally possible to get to 99 without teleport. It was indeed done on the SPF, but very rarely and only twinked AFAIK. Also that was before people realized how OP Nihl is (at least in SC). For Baal running teleport indeed doesn't make much of a difference. I'm just saying personally I wouldn't have the patience to do it if it took hundreds of hours longer. :)

Back on topic: I burned through all of his remaining HRs except for one Ohm (which is reserved for an Exile). Got some really sweet results actually.

I started with an eth Death Cleaver found on my 99er Sorc, which will be paired with the not-yet-made Exile on a Zeal/FoH hybrid:

Then came two expensive runewords, which I thought I'd make mostly for the runeword grail... but with these rolls I feel I have to put them to use a few times at least – getting perfect %ED on both Last Wish (15 ED/1 AR PB base) and Breath of the Dying (11 ED eth GPA base):

Next up was Eternity. I figured I might want to make use of the Revive charges so I went non-eth, but on the other hand wanted to make use of the high ED and Indestructible mods. Instead of going with another PB though, I decided to use a 13 ED Scourge base which is also a decent compromise of speed and damage:

(Disclaimer: The Sur used here was borrowed from my 99er Sorc and in fact her last HR. Same as the Vex for BotD which was cubed from two of her Guls. All the other high runes were farmed with Ric.)

Then there were 5 Los to burn through, finally netting a very nice Grief...

EDIT: I guess this HoJ also belongs here – it was made a while ago for a Dual Dragon/HoJ Enchantress using his runes.

A bit late to the party here, but major congrats @ffs !!!!! I loved following his journey, and he provided some great inspiration for me along the way, as well as some good ideas for my SC necro in the RFL realm. :)

Huge accomplishment, awesome gear, sweet vids. Enjoy your new path in life, pop in every now and then to say hi to some old friends. :)
