Isn't Kirgistan an ally of the US?

    Back in the USSR

Krygyzstan has been an US supporter since its independence from mother Russia but it hasn't done much lately. It was one of the more open and democratic former Soviet republics but when a President stays in power for more than a decade, that tends to lead one to believe that it's a democracy in name only.

    Back in the USSR indeed.

    Revolt in Krygzystan

Not exactly up to the minute coverage, but it should get you started.

So it's all protests and turmoil right now, no military action?

    Back in the...oh, you know.

From all reports thus far, it seems to have been a rather bloodless coup. No military takeovers, no massacres, no public executions.
