Imagine this setting. You have just worked your butt off on D2 and have gained your character like another 12 levels on runs and quests. You smile in satisfaction as you see how good you feel. Now only if you can have an soj and the day would be complete... Just as you think this thought (or an hour after i dont know it's supposed to be like your memory) a sorc comes, offering a precious soj. You are amazed at your luck - you have found someone willing to trade an soj! you send out your best items, which you are afraid are still crappy to this sorc. You're anxious to see if this sorc will trade with you or not. the sorc puts out the soj, the beautiful soj. the sorc has agreed to trade! You gladly accept the trade and look at your skill tree just to see how much it would improve your necro. your skellies smile, your magis smile, your golem (which ever one you prefer) smiles, even your unintelligent revives give a dumb smile. Suddenly you notice something. The skill tree hasn't gained even one point in any skill! You laugh at your mistake obviously you had a skill shrine on or something the last time you checked. You look in your inventory just to make sure that your soj won't break or runaway anytime soon and... OMG WTF WTH DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN! Your soj is gone. It never was there. The sorc has given you a ring that looks exactly like it. You were too gullable to double check if it was an soj before you accepted. Now you are angry. Your skellies, magis, golem, and even the unintelligent revives are pissed off. You want revenge...

The End

i still have the sn of the sorc. I can get revenge. What should i do? What would you do for revenge if someone switched an soj with something else while you eagerly trade all your decent items for it?

Sorry man, that has happened to me with a tal armor and rattle cage(you get the picture) There isn't much you can do except to double check next time. If you play HC I could help you out on a few items, don't have much but I could get you started. You could message him millions of times but that will just get you squelched and not much accomplished. If you need any help on HC whisper me *Valar-Wrath

I say a witch hunt... post the realm and account name.... if it's USWest Ladder.... until I trade stuff, my inventory is full... so what do I do? I would love to hunt down a person who bones over other players.... I can add her to my friends list and follow her into public trade games and warn all... vigillante baby!!!! Post that name and realm!

How can you follow her if she doesn't put you on her f list, it doesn't tell you where she is if shes just on yours does it?

yeah, actually it does... you just don't get the messages they send to /f m .... but they will get yours... so be careful what you say when they are on your list.

some one tried to trick me the same way, I was looking for Trang Oul helm, the sorc put on the trang helm and let me have a good look, I put down my offer a light saber and passion elite long sword, the sorc goes like

"space, w8"

when comes backm as you would I eager to put down my offers, she waited and put on the Tancred's helm on, lucky that I checked, the sorc left the game straight away.

Witch hunt? No just look in the mirror and say it was your own fault. Don't be gullible, don't be in a rush because really what rush is there? Just do the trade right and there won't be any problems. Don't fall for anything, how about that? No excuses just don't let it happen again, its only your fault

lol, i'm pissed off, but i guess i wont go as far as a WITCH HUNT! ARE YOU GUYS MAD????!!! I'd rather just find an soj on my own ^^x. Which is going to be impossible. T_T. Thanks guys, but hunting this sorc down may be a bit overboard. Something that'd annoy her would do, since it's obvious this sorc's not gonna give me my items back, much less, her soj.

Its a very old scamtrick the sorc pulled on you! It is very common and it happens on regular basis on battle net!

Four golden rules:

1 - Check the item first!
2 - Always let the other player to accept the trade first!
3 - Check the item again!
4 - If it's still there then accept trade!

If player says no more room then he's about to trick! DO NOT bother to trade with him again! He will try to give other items who look the same as the one he wanted to trade first!!!

But even if you manage to trade the item or items there is a possibilty that they are duped and with time they can vanish...very likely with high end runes like jah, ber, zod...trading for high end runes is a risky bussiness...

When someone tries to scam me they usually hurry and hit the check button to accept the trade. I'll check the item, if it's wrong, I'll lift up an item in my inventory which will "uncheck" their box. Rather fun, and once I annoyed a sorc with it so much that she changed the item back and accepted the trade...lol
