Resistance - % and * All resis, Are they the same?

Hi all,

I was always under the impression that % to resis eg.. +19% Cold resis was different to 19 all resis.

This is how i thought it worked, say you had a based resistance 145, and you had an item 20% cold would give you 29 to cold. Is this right or does 20% cold resis only give you an extra 20 to your total resistance?

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean, but anyway:

+19% allres is like +19% to fire, cold, lightning and poison res at the same time.

Resist bonuses get added, i.e. if your character has e.g. 12% cold res and you equip a +19% cold res item, your cold res will be 12+19=31%.

I was afraid you wouldn't. On a HoZ it has 50 all resistance would that be the same as having 50% fire, cold, poison, light.

Or does 50 all resistance make a platform for the % resistance items to work from.

All the resists from gear, charms, skills, aura, and whatnot are summed together. There are no items that apply resists multiplicatively.
