I planned on making a Wake of Fire Trap Sin
Will the - Fire Resis from phoenix shield work?

How about Sorc Hydras?

Traps are minions, so -res on your equipment won't work with them.

Hydra is a bit of a special case. They're minions, but mastery does work. Might be that -res works as well. Dunno...

Mastery does work with Hydras, however they are considered minions, in that you can't control them and what they attack, so the -res does not work.
