Reinstalled!

Well, I kinda thought it wouldn't happen... but last weekend I reinstalled D2 and now have a troop of new hardcore characters starting their untwinked SP journeys :jig:

It's been fun starting over. I have a different computer than I did when I was last here a couple years ago, and didn't save my D2 stashes, so I'm starting from scratch. But I have a javazon who has already reached act 2 NM, so I'll be able to waste hours farming Meph any moment now.

Anyway, great to see so many familiar faces still here on the SPF! I suppose Wolron and I will have to get a new tournament going sometime soon...

There's a pretty interesting looking CtC tournament going on (and one or two others fading out, I think), but more always welcome. In particular I remember many of yours quite fondly.

Awesome Wolron is taking a little break, but I suspect that if I start a new tournament, he'll suddenly reappear.

Reinstall project going well... got my untwinked hardcore Orb/FB sorc up to the Ancients Way in Hell difficulty, then immediately chickened out of any further progress until I find her some better gear... not sure she's Ancients-ready. She's now doing LK/Meph/Countess runs, to help her six new friends along.

Notable finds so far... well, two Ists (from Meph and a random chest in the Black Tower) and a Gul (from LK), which I may cube up to a Vex for Heart of the Oak (need a good target item first, though). Otherwise, nothing noteworthy, item-wise.

Of the other characters, two are in NM (shockadin and javazon), and the rest are still puttering around in act 1-2-3 normal. Trying a rabies druid for the first time... I can always respec in NM if it turns out to be horrible.

Whoa! skunkbelly! And Edmond Dantes! I have a HC sorc going as of a couple of days ago - in Act 2 Normal (I don't have a lot of time). Something eerie about this.

I think all the Rabies builds I played were in Skunkbelly tourneys in various pass-it-on situations, so it's great that you are giving it a try! I found them slow going (Kenobi I think was one) with HCMTF and/or knockback being useful for letting the poison run its course. And Treachery if you can make it I think works well with Rabies...

Yes, I have a HCMTF item on the character now, and it definitely helps spread the sickness.

Went ahead and made the HOTO for my sorc... and then almost immediately found a Stone of Jordan (only my second ever, I think) in LK... so she is a happy, happy girl right now.
