While I wasn't one of the deaths in this game, I found it quite comical, so here it is:

We had a party of 6 trying to finish act 3, all of us lvl 18-22. 4 sorcs, 1 pally, and a barb. We finally reach durance 3, and one of the sorcs teles to the red portal, so we didn't have to kill the council members. While several of us tp to town to enter the sorcs tp, 2 of them try to run to meph, bringing a trail of council members with them. We try to chip meph down while dodging the council's attacks, then one of the sorcs ran up to meph to static him, he died. We regroup a ways from meph, and start taking out all the council members, where another chr died, the pally. We tried to take on meph again and one of the sorcs died to a cold ball. We were down to 3 now, and decided to do a variation of the mf trick on mephisto, so we went to the other side of the moat. We kept casting glacial spikes for a long time, with the baba buying mana pots for us, then the others sorc died. Soon after we finally killed him.

6 chrs, 4 dead, on norm meph. It certainly made me laugh after it was over (btw, I was the remaining sorc)

A little off topic, but funny none the less.

Had just got some decent equipment - TR Armor that is - and I was an FO-ES sorc of level 87. My friend, another FO sorc lvl 76, came to the game and I showed off my brand new TR armor to him. Then I said "Hey, why don't you try your frozen orb to me? I guess I it won't harm me due to my 75 % res cold."

Very wrong, as sorcs have usually 17 cold mastery and with +skills my res cold was cut to about -100. I had about 400 hps, which was very low because I had Energy Shield protecting me. The bad thing here was that I hadn't cast the ES on me and my friend shot an FO at me - deeds at lvl 87 from lvl 76 sorc. Man was I pissed for a while - and guess who forgot to put the loot on?

1. Death from a screenshot:
I was levelling a barb in Flayers, then weant to temple thingie in Kurast - Kurast bAzzar, etc. I wasnt supposed to go there with low resists, but I did and eventually got poisoned by a spider for insane dmg. Then, still with life going down I saw a Brute-type boss Magic Immune and Physical Immune at once. Nice monster for a barb I think, I should take a screen. As I press the button, comp freezes, I reboot, but still dead. Was lvl 79.

2.Death in self-rush
When I was rushing another char with my lvl 80 barb using 2 cd-keys on same comp. If you did that you know you have switch between 2 windows accs and it takes some time. Well, I killed NM Andy with the barb and opened TP. Then switched to my 2nd char while the barb remained standing in cat4. When I came back, he was dead. Never thought it was possible with lvl 80 vitabarb in 2ppl act1 NM game. There were a couple of fallens/zombies.

3. Death by left-click
Accidentally erased full-rushed lvl 7 pally

4. I clicked options
Finished classic singer barb and just start doing hell cs. Was in place where Vizier spawns, life was going down slow. I had several options: cast WC, jump out, being saved by the party, s/e. Nothing worked.

Many dumb deaths, but heres most recent: staying in a duel game with my lvl 15 pike charger after the lvl 90 sorc joins. She stayed in town a bit, then host, tele, dead before I could leave. Sad. That pally had 14 ears using ghetto equipment, mostly shopped. I'd be PK'ing tomorrow if I had alt/f4'd instead of trying to save/exit. At least I don't carry the shame of MH/chicken users.

I actually had 4

My level 6 sorc died to some cold enchanted pack in stony field.
Then I was with a buddy getting our new mephisto orbers ready for leveling. He boosted me to a5 norm and I did the same to his new girl both near level 15, he had to go for a while so I decided to show him how fast I could level and went to a public game to run through the catacombs 2 and 3. Drinking mana/health pots like crazy but doing my best. Buddy returns and I'm dead All the work for nothing.
Another 2 level 5-10 sorcs died trying to catch up my work on the other sorcs I wanted to have this sorc so badly!

Ah well, new sorc is now 77 killing mephisto in hell like there's no tomorrow (go ES!)

Did i mention I'm a newbie at sorcs? I prefer having lotsa skeletons running around serving me, their master. Mwahaha..

One from me and one I remember reading here.

1. Lvl 50 summon necro. Chaos Sanctuary in a 4 person game. My skele are keeping everything at bay while a zon and a sorc blast from a distance. Barb runs around BOing everyone and trying to not hit anything while IM'd.

Things are going smooth until De Seis. Someone hits seal while I am running out to be on the far side when he appears. Instead his entire group appears right on top of me and all his fana friends hit me at once. Insta Deeds.

The one I read of some of you may remember and tell me who it was.

2. Guy was rushing his own sorc with a high lvl Barb. Was in a public game and a number of people were whinning. "help us Barb" etc etc. Ignoring them he carried on with the rush up to near the end of Act 2 I believe. Barb sets TP and sorc goes through. One of the other players in the game has been plus plus annoying so our hero hostiles him just to scare him away.

Other players in the game start calling him names et al. Brief argument takes place and then Barb goes back through tp to finish rushing sorc. Unfortuneatly he had not taken off the hostile and his merc kills his sorc.

Not only does he PK his own sorc now everyone is yelling at him for PKing a character so much lower than he was.

That is a Dumb Death.

Not my own, but I was involved (1.09).

If I recall it was normal.

Playing in Act3 on way to Meph.

Assassin joins, and then hostiles.

Goes down to Meph wp and starts tping across to me.

I frantically hit Save and Exit - only to hear scream..........

Damn I thought - until...........

Look on screen and Im alive in the channel???

Rejoin game to find that the assassin had died..........

He'd hit my thorns merc - 1 hit KO'd himself

Actually this one was kinda amusing as I had PLENTY of warning. I'm being paed through and am leveling in the tower.
I see a boss pack of archers just standing there.
I shoot nothing happens.
I run like hell.
Nothing happens.
I edge back over.
Nothing happens.
I look at em for a few seconds.
Nothing happens.
I run away again.
Nothing happens.
I do the "lag test" going back to previous level.
It works.
I go back and walk back to where the archers are.
Nothing happens.
I go the other direction.
BAM! All the sudden they on top of me I'm amped and before I can hit pot more than once or S&E I'm staring at my own body.
Which needless to say led to a few choice words ^.^.

Just happened. my level 72 lf zon was in hell act one first map. I needed to take a b-room break popped into town. When i come back my 4 year old son was crying because he killed my character.

I let him play in normal act one, and he hates dying, useally does not. He supposed to tell me when he wants to play tho. Will have to be more carefull in the future

nearly the same here though circumstances were a bit different. My girlfriend at the time came to visit and she had for the longest time tollerated diablo and my habit. this time she was ... well ... lets just call it "motivated" and things (that I will leave to the imagination of you all) ensued. I was at the time doing a nm meph run with my lvl 8x hc barb (vs 1.09) looking for some mid level items for a newer char. I was in the durance 2 on the way to meph's hole when "other activities" took place distracting me for approx 30 - 45 mins. when I finally looked up at the computer there was a dying barb that must have taken thousands of vampire meteors and hacks from stygian dolls. he bit it just about the time I made it to the computer...deads for him and a night-long smile for me. she laughed...

I was making a dueler in 1.09 and a fellow misfit had given me all the small life charms I could ask for. And like an uber noob I put them on my guy thinking I would get to lvl 17 in about 30 mins.

About 7 mins latter as I looked at my screen I could not believe I let my lvl 3 character with over 20 small charms with 14-15 life (as well as many other 12-13s) die in the sewers, where I never should have been at that lvl to begin with.

Certainly my most ignorate death to date.

On a second note I just died on the latter at lvl 76 because I thought 2K life, max resists, 25% block and not DR would save me while I teled to the pentegram in act 4 hell... OH YEAH, I didn't mule the IST I had jsut gotten from my HF either......

well, not necessarily hardcore death related but..

Early 1.09 (pre-rune dupe days), moving things around in mule stash. Dropped my hard-earned cham right into a crappy rare, lvl 12 armor with 1 socket in it...

Gogo 21 def armor now with CBF-and a min lvl req of 67. Fab-bu-f'ing-lous.

Still not sure why I was holding onto that rare armor. Doh. Lessons from a packrat.

Was solo running a5 nm with my lvl65 orb/chanter sorc at 4AM (NOT a good idea) when I got down to the icey celler or whatever and there were dolls. I teled away fast and was like "hey why dont I just go get the chest over there before I quit" so I tele over and orb a pack of dolls "bleh its like 5 of them they wont make it to me and I got plenty of life anyway. Well they turned out to be extra fast and all blew up in my face. "woo I lived" than the last one goes bang and I died. If only I had a bit more life...
