Rebuilding my summoner/shaman, any advice?

Rebuilding my summoner/shaman, any advice?

Basically just looking for tweaking advice here, my last summoner used shockwave and grizzy, or just plain teleport + grizzly for lower life/defense builds like zons and sorcs.

I want to incorporate armageddon into the build, so I'm restructuring the skills a bit, here's what I'm thinking so far (per the gear I have):

Gear choices:

Helm:Cham'd +2 summon, +3 grizzly pelt with 25% poison length reduced, some fire and cold res.
Armor: light plate enigma, going for low strength
belt:arachnids
gloves: magefists (sexy mana regen, +1 fire skill)
"weapon": 7% fhr, 105 light res wiz spike, OR sexual ethereal suicide branch
shield: ber stormshield = max dr with enigma
Boots: This is a tossup. Considering aldurs, sandstorms, soul spurs, or perfect waterwalks, and natalyas
Amulet: +2 summon, 10% fcr, +90 mana, +40 fire res (wish it was +3 and 9-10 fcr)
rings = 2 sojs. I really need a lot of mana for spamming summons.

10 summon charms, some with life, one 12%fhr, a couple 7% faster r/w.
9 life/mana small charms (18-20 life with 10-14 mana each)
15/16 annihilus

-----------------------------------------

That covers what gear I am planning, although some of it may be a tossup, and some of you may have better suggestions. now on to the skills:

The obvious - maxed grizzly. This is where his damage comes from.

Now, I am debating whether oak sage or HoW would work best, or even just abse level oak. I maxed HoW on my other summoner for the additional damage and attack rating for my grizzly. Does anyone know how much HoW and spirit wolves actually boosts the attack rating of my grizzly? This question needs to be answered for my next skill tossup:

Spirit wolves: to max or to leave at base? With all of my +skills they will be at a fairly high level for additional attack rating. My grizzly doesn't care about defense though, as he will be hit in pvp regardless.

Dire wolves: these guys can stay at base. 5k or 10k life, the grizzly dies just as fast.

I like to have a point into carrion vine for leeching PvM.

I liek to shapeshift against Melee so one point into shockwave.

If I go to lvl 90, I will be able to max Armageddon, volcano, molten boulder, grizzly, and about 10 points into a spirit. Remember I only have 13 to all skills total with my prebuff (mangs) so my armageddon will be around the 6k damage mark with two synergies.

Would 1 synergy armageddon work to stun, add about 4k fire damage to my arsenal, and allow me to max out a spirit?

I want to note that I don't want to make a fire based elemental druid, I want to make a druid that uses the grizzly bear to kill. Verses sorcs, amazons, and trap assassins I find that the grizz does better than tornados sometimes, as the grizzly attacks within 4 frames of landing after a teleport , much faster than the fastest cast for a tornado.

Laid out simply, this is my plan for now:
Max grizzly
Max HoW
Max Volcano
Max Armageddon
1 point into lycanthropy and shockwave
1 point into carrion vine for pvm
rest into molten boulder (about 5)
(in non shifted form I will use twisters)

This gets me to a level 48 grizzly doing ~6500-6700 dmg before HoW
about 4500 damage from armageddon
volcanos that can stun lock people in certain rare circumstances
shockwave to make the stunning power of armageddon and the grizzly bear all that much more powerful.
If I leave the spirits alone I can focus on wither spirit wolves or another geddon synergy, bringing it up to about 7k damage.

I know there aren't many people out there who care about/play summon based builds, but I expect Garbad and Welt to do some brainstorming for me. Or Else.

Thanks everyone for reading, and I hope this gets some interest back into summon based druids.

(Gar should give me all those summoning things he has on west so I can go over there and dominate :) )

I would use a spirit sword and a 2 driud 20% fcr circlet with 2 shaels. Fhr helps, and skill level is only 1 less.

My ideal setup would be:

Beast low reqs
ber storm
arachnids
magefist
2 jodams
+2 druid stat 10% fast cast ammy
2/20 fcr, socketed 2 shaels or something
niga

10 summons with life, anni, whatever scs.

Only 4.5k grizzly, 8.9k with how/beast tho and he attacks faster and has more ar.

Id also keep a hoto just in case of quick tele
I was considering remaking a shaman
:(
the only thing is
WW sins/barbs/all melee just walked all over my summoner

well, you need 100 fcr, so thats pretty much noted here. You are a teleporting pub minion stacker, as you haven't really suggested as much, but anyways. Your casting weapon choices seem solid. It also gives you the resists you sorely lack. Don't bother maxing a spirit. 1 point or 20, its likely the first to die. with all those plus skills, they are nearly level 30 with base points anyways, lol. 1 point each, no more. I would go with the fire skills. Its a solid idea. Geddon has its uses (also tears the hell out of wind elementals). YOu will want a few in fissure for duration. I would say go ahead and put 10 points in it. Your summons will do better if the opponent can't hit back. With that said, put twister on your left click. teleport on top, spam the heck out of twister. they are stunned, grizzly gets free hits. Unlike shockwave, it can't be blocked and you don't have to be shifted to use it.

with that said, suggested build would be:: max grizzly, 1 point up to HoW.
max geddon, the 2 synegies. After that, go for fissure for geddon duration. It also is useful on its own for killing stuff at range if need be. Don't worry about any ss stuff, its not worth it for you. Lycanthropy/carrion vine/shockwave are worthless, so use those points better elsewhere. good luck

XD
I was considering using twsiter seeing as it had stun and quick cast
shockwve wouldnt be as good as twister because u dont have tele
Im gonna mamke this after making my WW Sin

so basically It's going to look like this:

Max grizzly
1 point into oak and HoW (bringing them to lvl 26 each with +skills)
max armageddon
max firestorm
max volcano
10 into fissure
I want carrion vine, and theres nothing that will stop me from getting it!
okay, so I won't have any shapeshifting abilities (although the duration on shockwave helps in a hit-and-run vs. melee characters.)

Looking at a lvl 48 grizzly (could be 50 if I sacrificed cast rate, which I won't)
Level 30-something armageddon with mangs, lvl 29 if i dont have a chance to buff it.

I just really don't have enough +skills to be comfortable using any other fire skills except for armageddon.
Maybe once I get it built the actualy gameplay will prove me wrong.

The one thing that would really make my day!!! :

I am using a +2 summon, 10% fcr ammy right now(rare), but I also have a +1 druid, 9 fcr, 18 strength, 40 mana, 15% mana regen ammy as well (crafted)

I would lose 1 point to my grizzly/spirit, but gain a point into my fire skills. It almost seems worth it to me (especially for the 18 str on the crafted ammy), But I would really cream my panties if any of you has a +2DRUID, 9faster cast ammy for trade or as a gift somewhere!

edit: welt, I know you have been using an 09 ele druid to duel with recently. How much damage is the armageddon that you are using? Am I okay with 5k or 6k damage?

5-6k is good enough, I think. on my .09 ele, I have 6-7k with level 40 geddon and one synergy maxed. I still tear the hell out of wind eles.
