reassign skills ?

I made a mistake. I have a level 23 barbarian and made a mistake in assigning skill points. Is there a cheat o something to fix this ? I hope there's one, I don't want to build a new character

However, is there a way to make good use of 4 points given to shout and 3 to howl ? Is this a very bad assignment ? Can I balance things while I go further into the game ?

They apply.

What you do on your own computer is your business, but do not use our forums to do so. Also, please do not spam multiple posts in rapid succession, you can edit your posts for quite some time.

Why would it be acceptable to cheat in single player mode?

With barbs damage is based on the equipment, rather than perfect skillpoint placement, you could always make a Berserker, with maxed Howl/Shout as synergies

...
why wouldn't it ?

it doesn't affect anyone else

as long as he's not trading items or in a tournament then it really doesn't affect anyone but him

there's nothing wrong with trying out different items, builds and skills in SP before spending all the time in effort building them on the ladder only to find out they don't work

Single Player Forum rules:

Thou Shalt Not Flame or Troll - Mods have fire extinguishers (ban sticks). Report posts using the "!" button
Thou Shalt Not Spam or Engage in Posting Wars - 1337 post counts aren't funny
Thou Shalt Not Advertise - this isn't Ebay
Thou Shalt Not Post Naughty Links, Graven Images or File Downloads - PG13 rating here and the word filter is there for a reason, don't by-pass it and don't over-use it
Thou Shalt Not Pimp or aid the Pimping of hacks or Cheats - do what you want on your own computer but don't encourage others
Thou Shalt Not Engage in Unnatural Bumping - use the edit and multi-quote functions
Thou Shalt Not Spoof - don't pretend to be someone else or make a second account
Thou Shalt Not Get Territorial - your stuff is now ours
Thou Shalt Accept the Mods & Admin's Decisions - we are looking to protect the Community
Thou Shalt Not Mention "Freedom of Speech" - you may (politely) disagree (PM is usually best), but see #9

I believe Gorny summed it up perfectly - do what you want on your own computer, but don't expect assistance here with any cheat. The Single Player Forum members here are extremely strict about avoiding cheats, with the wish to avoid all the duped runes on B.net being a primary reason why many choose to play SP rather than online.

Frankly if you want to cheat then yes you can. But the SPF won't help you and we certainly don't want to MP or trade with you.

Level 23 is nothing. Perhaps if you can't stand a remake at that low level, D2 is not for you. Feel free to pop by the SPF and read the legitimate achievements. Untwinked Guardians, Level 99 HC Guardians, theme-based Mats/Pats etc etc etc.

Noodle those rules are actually abridged from the diii.net rules. IE of the whole site.

Both of those are useful skills and most barbs will have one in each anyway. As was said earlier, you don't need your skills to be perfect.

As Thyiad said, 23 is nothing. You can easily get to 23 in a few hours. Use the /players8 command to make the game act like there are 8 players and you can level very quickly.

So, you can start over, but it really isn't necessary.

Ok thanks. I think I'm not very good at this game. I have been playing it for nearly 2 weeks, 2 hours every day and I'm still at level 23!!! Is this normal ? I'm doing the second act, one final quest left to complete it.

Re: reassign skills ?

I would advise you to manipulate the players setting. Press enter, and type /players8 and the game will act as if there are seven additional players in the game. Monsters get harder, but you will level much more quickly.

And a barbarian is a very tough character for your first, as the damage they dish out is very item dependent. A sorceress, trapping assassin, or Javelin amazon would probably be easier. Doesn't mean you should give up or that you're a bad player, just that you're still getting accustomed to the game and how it works. My first couple of characters, I had points all over the place in skills I never should have gone near. It's part of the fun of exploring the game.

I'd be happy to help you out with some single player items. I've been playing for years, and have thousands of items in stashes that I'm not likely to ever touch. Do you use ATMA or GoMule? I recommend either of them highly, as they allow you to save and trade items. They can be found in the Single Player Forum, and if you send me a private message with your e-mail address I would be happy to send you a stash with some items that should help you out. If you'd prefer to play with only self-found items, that's perfectly understandable.

In any event, if you come over to the Single Player Forum and post an introduction thread, I think you'll find that we SPF'ers are a friendly lot for the most part, and can give you plenty of helpful hints on playing the game through.

Best of luck to you regardless of what path you choose!
