Range Question!

i just made a eBotd Zerker and i was gonna start my WW barb! but im wondering!...

would a Grief Phase Blade be better? would the lower range of "2" on a PB be very noticible when compared to the Zerker??

on a different note: is ed% from fortitude calculated on the damage shown on the eBotd or the base damage of the Zerker axe?
is fortitude/Grief better then fortitude/eBotd ????

yes, grief would be better but not in pb due to range, ba is the best option imo(if u intend to duel, forget any 1h weapon with range lower than 3)

to the best of my knowledge %ed on forty is applied on the base weapon dmg
if this is PvP char than grief/forty is an option worth investing, however than you would loose 30 to att. and a ton of str bonus from enigma so this should also be taken under consideration(bVc anyone??)

i would love to make grief in a ba but im scared that i mite role a low ias one and it wouldn't reach the speed i want for WW..

maybe ill put it in a Zweihander, even if the lowest ias is roled, it will still reach the Break point!

what do you think? Flameberg instead?

as for flam it's not a bad choice for grief at all since most of the rw's dmg comes from +dmg moddifier, not %ed.

dahmer did some tests and grief flam turns out to be as good as or better than ebotd ba

however(there always is however ) ed on fortitude is applied on base weapon dmg(someone plz correct me if i'm wrong) and it packs a best kick with a high dmg base - something to consider also! so you would maybe(depends on base armour choice) save pts by using flam but get a bit lower dmg - not a bad tradeof imo unless it turnes out to give you lower dmg than botd/forty combo, hmmmmmm *takes a deap breath* DAHMER TEST PLZ!!!!! :clap:

But the ed on fortitude is applied on the base weapon dmg + the +dmg from grief!!

the damage added from grief is added before all other damge modifyers are applied!!! (Is this wrong? im pretty sure its right!)

therefore:

Grief Zerker Axe: (340 - 400) + (24 - 71) = 364 - 471 one hand damage!

Grief Zweihander: (340 - 400) + (19 - 35) = 359 - 435 one hand damage!

Grief Flameberg: (340 - 400) + (9 - 15) = 349 - 415 one hand damage!

This is before any other %ED dmg bonuses and strength bonuses!

is this correct guys? not much difference for the speed and no worry of a low role!!

In that case, Grief/Fortitude would absoloutly KILL !! eBotd/Fortitude!!!

@gmoura : if you want to make a grief just look for the fastest weapon with range 3 & go hf with it

i actually just noticed flamberge having -10 base, never really looked @ low req weapons & didnt know so if you want to make grief yourself then flamberge is the best choise of getting 4fpa ww weapon with every roll

dmgwise :
lowest possible grief flamberge (+340dmg) = 349-355dmg = 352 avg
perfect eth superior botd ba (415%) = 185-545dmg = 365 avg

with the worst possible roll you'll end up with a bit less dmg than a perfect eth botd ba but botd doesnt have 20% ds

ps : yes range 3 is a must

if you want ml in pvm just find yourself a dualleech ring or use botd for pvm?

But if you wore a Fortitude Armour, even the flameberg would beat the eBotd by Leaps and bounds cause the 300%ed is calculated on the 349-355 with the grief and only on the base beserker axe damage for the eBotd!

every %ed mod is applied to total weapon dmg, whoever said its applied to base weapon dmg should do some testing first, with the worst roll grief flamberge a perfect eth botd ba will be a tiny bit better in dmg......if grief didnt have 20% ds, that adds dmg 2 so in that case grief is a tiny bit better i'd say
