Range of Smite when using a Berserker Axe vs. a Phase Blade ? der=

Range of Smite when using a Berserker Axe vs. a Phase Blade ?

If I'm using a Berserker Axe instead of a Phase Blade when smiting, will my Smite range be increased, or is it just the same ?

If it's just the same, am I true to assume that a Phase Blade is better if I use Teleport instead of Charge, to get close to my opponent  ?

if you use telport i believe range don't matter , what matters is the ias, if your oponent uses any kind of slow then you cant smite as fast with ba ,as oposed to pb.

and holy freeze makes smiting with zerker REALLY slow unless you have ias stacked, with pb it won't have this problem.

range will be better with ba but it will be harder to counter slow from enemies, not much of a difference in range if you tele-smite "right".

I see, thanks for your feedback everybody.
Since I plan to go the Teleport route, I'll probably use a Phase Blade rather than a Berserker Axe. I think the next step is a lot of practice until I telesmite correctly .

just remember to not hold the shift after teleport

Whys that stef? Wouldn't you want to stand still and smite and not chase after the guy (assuming he ran)?
the thing is that after the first smite they get knocked back and prolly out of range so it looks like 1st smite is shift smite then rest are smites with run. I bet good tele smiters will never hold shift at all.

Unless you telesmite perfectly EVERY time, its better to hold shift for the first smite. If you miss, you wont end up walking down, which usually leads to more misses. You can always let go of shift after the initial smite.

Phase allows for a lot more versatility when it comes to auras. Grief is better for slippery opponents and a higher charge range.

Keeping two Grief weapons (phaser/ba) doesn't sound like a bad idea. I don't expect telesmiters have the most extensive gear switches, meaning enough stash space for this.

Ok, interesting points of view. I guess I'll have to try a bit of everything, and practice a lot of course.

Another question : does Slow (from Cleglaw's Brace for example) work when smiting  ? If yes, is it really worth it ?
