Thanks for the nice appraisal, Bruticus. If you do plan to play hardcore, I'll be glad to help. I'm just a message away!

Note on Dexterity and blocking:

If you adjust the formula, you can achieve blocking equal to total blocking of you items by using this formula:

DEX = (clvl * 2) + 15

This means that if you have a Homunculus, you will have 72% chance to block so long as your dexterity is double your character level plus 15.

This is actually the easiest way to maintain max block without having to spend 5 pts. into dexterity every so often. At level 6, start placing 2 stat points into dexterity and placing the rest in either vitality or strength. If you want max block, you can always hold on to those +dex charms that seem to be everywhere in the beginning of the game. Or you could just have a good shield with near 75% block and a safety amulet. Anyway, this is the trick I use for stat point allocation. I would say that for the first 4 levels, pump strength, then start the dexterity pumping in conjunction with vitality and strength.

Awesome guide! My next hc char definately!

One thing. You don't have to unsummon your mage first. Just summon him again :) Not much of a help i know..

if you resummon after you have summoned your max, one of the mages is lost. unsummoning lets you choose which one gets the axe =)

Hrmm. As a necro man you don't really get too many life points per vita points invested. So, at lower levels it's best to just pure boost Vitality, unless you're twinking on some tweak armor.

Get at Least 150 Vita points in before thinking about block.

That's the way I've been doing it anyways.

I agree with pumping vita before much else on ANY HC char, it just helps you survive that much better. I always have ~125-150 in any characters before I really start pumping either dex or str. Something like block isn't really needed until you hit act4 NM most of the time, but you definitely want for Hell.

Although, I have, and never will make my HC summoners with block.
