I think this may have been address already, but I didn't see the answer. Does anyone know FOR SURE if the rainbow facet jewels work with the Mercenaries? My does die from time to time (like when he gets cursed) and I'd love to see the 100% chance of something unreal happening when he dies. I haven't added the Jewel yet, but then what would be the purpose of having it in hard core? The suicide character? The new terrorist threat?

I am almost 100% sure that facets work on mercs.

I'd love to see a rouge merc using 6x, 3x and 4x socketed bow helm and armor die and leave a good amount of blizzards/poison novas and chain lit.

what i want to know is...If your merc is using 4x of the same jewel...do all 4 of them work. Like if the merc is using 4x blizzard on death jewels, does it trigger 4 separate blizzards at the same time? If so...the damage could be devastating.

Edit: Does anyone else see a hyperlink on the word "blizzard" in my post?

Pretty sure they don't stack at all, i.e. just one lame spell gets cast.

heh, they really do. my friend and i tried it out.

It does work. My one merc did a level 42 poison nova on death. And it would actually kill the swarm that killed him. It was great. Some it just weakened, but it did work.

I'm sure dying just to kill a monster is worth the xp loss..........not.

i remember watching a duel where one guy died by killing someones merc who was equiped with 4 different facets. after he died i asked him if he "enjoyed the fireworks" lol :lol:

I don't think there would be a loss of experience if your Merc died? But the show would be great! That silly Merc (Barbarian) always seems to kill himself in act 4 with Iron Maiden. One second he's there, the next he's gone. At least this way the light show will "announce" the fact that I'm now alone. LOL

Rainbow facets on merc..sure a nice firework. Considering that he needs to be lv 49 to use them (right?) this will be an expensive way of killing, if you have to build him to die and then keep resurrecting him.

same rainbow jewels dont stack.
just the %chance raises to 200% if 2 same jewels=only one effect though.
