Rabies/Fury Weapon of choice.

Hello,

I was wondering which weapon should a Rabies/Fury hybrid druid use.
As I see it, you should have a 30/-30 pb and a 20/-20 monarch on switch for the flash switch to provide extremly high rabies damage.
With that said, I think that the 2nd weapon set, or first whatever, should be for Fury attacks. I read a few guides, some say Grief, some say eBotD and some others mention some wierd mauls or gpa.

Can anyone please help me with that ?

It really depends what you want. Do you want max-block? If not, then 2 handers can be extremely powerful, and the range will make a huge difference. However if you feel max block is necessary (I don't believe it is, in fact, I would warn against it. Wolves have sweet fhr, good life, and each time you block is more then one attack wasted. Plus your going to be running around alot, so you really won't get much out of it), then this limits your weapon choices. Personally, I would go 2 hander with a EBOTD GPA- range means you can poke em with rabies, it has good fury speed, and sweet damage. If you must go one handed, then grief is a good cheap simple option, but you can always go crazy with rares/magics. The -res is pretty sweet, and means that you have the option of not flashing- rabies them, then lock them up with fury and inflict some serious hurt.

I wouldn't go with Mauls, they suck pretty hard. Bad range, slower when compared to other fury weaps. They are decent fury weaps, but bad rabies weaps.

I'm no shifter expert, but I know a bit about them. This is just my opinion based on experience, I probably left out some stuff, but most of its valid.

We've exhausted topic countless times before. Search for "BotD vs Grief" or something like that.

Jaq: Pure 2 hander in PvP is utter suicide >.>.

What realm do you play on vikingbba?

Ive always had more luck with a 408% ebotd zerk axe then a grief phase blade.

you will notice a difference when usin zerk ebotdz over a grief phase blade vs a Barbarain for the range and it will seem like you hit more often with it then grief.

Word of advice is to build your self to be able to use two hand and one hand weapons. Be flexible on your gear choice & swaps. It also doesnt hurt to toss aside the -poison weapon on switch sometimes to use a call to arms.


~Ps Don't build around the 30 stats from ebotd.

2-hander is very effective vs casters but vs ama/melee it's nice to have a shield for block ><

on a realm there the avg player is "rerolling" botdz on nl...:D

I have a perfect 40/400/25 grief on a superior zerker 15% ED right now.
I rolled it myself lol, do you guys think I should stick with it or switch it to something better ?

theres nothing better u can get with dupe runes.

there could be a rare of gozuness but well...

u should get an eth tombrever vs casters_too_

2 handers are sweet weapons, the only time you must absolutely have max block is against chargers.... so is it worth losing to melee pallies and having more life/larger weapon/shield choice? I think it is, but thats just me. You could always stash stuff, but I'm not a huge fan of keeping massive amounts of gear in the stash. A couple pieces of res gear, maybe a coulple switches, and thats it. I feel your char should fight as is, because in real combat you can't say, hold on, let me grab the gear thats most effective against you. But if you want to stash stuff have at it.

When I said Grief, I implied PB- why would you use a zerk? You get a little more damage, for a much slower attack... not to mention it has to have much more specific stats. Its not worth the extra damage to me, grief has good decent damage no matter what weapon it goes in.

Go 2 hander against ANY Barb and tell me how you do >.>. The thing is, you can't, as a Wolf have one set gear choice if you want to be competitive. You're already the underdog with lower mobility than others. Why handicap yourself even more?

Besides, in real combat you could block with a polearm, not DII.

I know I am going to use a rabies flash set, as for the other one, that should be a fury set as I see it.
I think I will add enough dex to have max block with a shield, but I will also have a 2 handed at stash in case I'll need it.

So, which 2 hander are you guys suggesting and which 1 haner should suit this best ?

P.S I will probably use a SS as a shield.

quick question, for rabies switch, do u guys ever use cta+20/20 monarch? is that viable at all? or just leave cta in stash for inbetween duels?

You could if you don't need a large amount of -res. For example, Bowas. I don't BO with a Wolf though so >.>

imo i would definately build for max block
(and as kiba stated dont use botdz stats to base your druid)

a 2 hander in the stash for those situations that require the range/dmg and you dont nee dto block(hammerdins,trappers,windys are good examples)

wasnt sure if you stated which realm your on but you should post that and maybe we could be of more direct help
