Quick Tip to Deal with FTJ's

Okay, I just found this out yesterday, but...

Apparently, when you're waiting for the fricking doors to open (starting/joining a game) and you get the feeling they're never gonna open, you can just press ALT+F4 to go back to the channel/menu. This saves you some time waiting for the 'Failed to Join' message and waiting for it to disappear.

If you press ALT+F4 whilst in a game or in a channel, you will hard exit Diablo.

Don't know if this has been know for an eternity, but I never read it anywhere and just found it out myself, so just wanted to let you guys know.

How did I find this out? Well, I was waiting for the message of death and was so annoyed I wanted to insta-exit Diablo. :azn:

Thanks never knew that, I usually just control alt delete and end the process if it is taking too long.

Yeah, I know what the basic function of Alt F4 is, but programs can easily override the defaults and it would seem the developers did this; they probably had lots of FTJ's themselves.

note that it doesn't always work, some times it will exit program intead. However it is probably just as fast to restart the program anyway...

Nice. Btw, I heard you can get rid of 'join bug' (i.e. can't join any games with a char that is 'out of sync' or somesuch) by creating a game with the char that has it. Worked for me a few times when I was still playing.

windowed mode it doesnt work on ( at least for me, it just exits the the exe completely )

If its pw protected game, i feel that entering the wrong pw first, or just clicking enter (no pw), it comes back quick, then i enter the pw, and im fine. has worked for a while now (dont get failed joins anymore, just a quick wrong pw screen), might just be my sys though...got used to clicking the enter and retyping to avoid

it doesn't work all the time. there's still times that i close the game when alt-f4'ing a ftj-door. also, it seems to work more often with games that i create than games that i join. and i think the time you've been waiting also matters, shorter times have an increased probability of closing the game.
