Quick question regarding hardcore and battle.net

Hey, I'm sort of a returning-old timer to this game. I just bought Diablo II again, and decided to pick up where I left off-Hardcore. I was wondering if there was a way to start playing Hardcore right away, without having to have a character who's defeated diablo in your battle.net account.

if i remember correctly, you need to beat a difficulty in softcore first before you can play hardcore.

Just don't don't don't risk downloading any program to do this! All you need is regedit, a utility which is installed as a part of windows.

Indeed, do a search for "AllowHardcore" in regedit.

A hack or not, you might as well point him to a direct link with a trojan on it. Same effect.

I am chill enough. As Oscuro already implied, the biggest reason for people getting hacked is downloading things they don't know anything about. Aeoril's intentions might have been good enough, but it is nevertheless a dangerous advice to give.

And what do you mean by "way over your head"? I didn't even get started about the morality of altering the AllowHardcore state. And I do have my own opinion on that - so at least give me credit for not dragging it into this thread. :p
