Quick Question on old Poison/Bone Necro Guide

Alright, so, this is my first time playing Diablo 2 since I was like 11 years old, I basically came back for the nostalgia factor and I've found that I am having a lot of fun. I wanted to play a Necromancer and so some quick google searching came up with http://www.diabloii.net/strategy/x-guides/necro_Holy_Terrrror.shtml this guide featured on this site. However, the guide is quite dated, back to an old patch and I'm wondering if it is still applicable.

See, I was planning on following this guide to the T but it seems like not getting the extra bonus damage to bone spirit from all the other bone skills being maxed is bad, same being with poison. So my question is, is it still viable to follow this guide to have a fairly decent PvM character or should I just abandon the idea of having both Poison Nova and Bone Spirit since maxing both would in turn be nerfing both of them, since I lack the points to put in the other poison and bone talents for bonuses? I haven't put more than one point in anything yet and I am level 29.

Semi-confusing, I know. But any help from you crazy vets would be appreciated. Thanks.

That is a pretty old guide, IMHO. Poison/Bone is no good anymore. You can do either pure poison, pure summon or poison/summon assuming you get right gears.

So say I'm level 31 and I've already put 1 point into Poison Dagger, Poison Explosion, Poison Nova, Blood, Iron, and Fire Golem.

Is my build still salvagable even though I wasted those 6 points? Like Just go pure bone from hereon and just have six less points in Teeth?

Also I'm guessing there is no way to have a decent golem come hell if you expect to do damage with your bone spells?

Hmm, actually I'ma get a calculator and figure this out.

Just remake if you want to go pure bone. It is not hard to lvl31. Turn it as a mule,then Or you can make a pure poison or poison/summoner later.
