Quick question about Poison Length Reduction

Hoping for a fast reply here, because I'm about to solo Andy for the first time in my HC career.
Say I have Cleglaw's shield, with 75% Poison Length Reduction, on the switch.
Would it have any use to switch to it after being poisoned?
Ie., does the game calculate your total Poison Length Reduction at the time you are poisoned, or does it keep re-calculating it during the whole time you're poisoned?
Follow-up question:
If there's no use switching to Cleglaw's after being poisoned, would you prefer 0% Poison Resist/75% Reduction or 12% Resist/0% Reduction?
