I think the S-Video outlet needs to be built in to the TV. I mean, I don't think you could plug something into the red/yellow/white plugs that converts to S-Video. It'd still be the basic red/yellow/white. If there's no S-Video outlet in the TV already, I don't think it's possible. Unless S-Video can somehow be changed into a more basic type of video with a converter that plugs into the one you already have on the TV.

That wasn't a very good answer was it? Hmm...anyone else?

Since your laptop already has an S-Video out plug, and your TV just has red/yellow/white, all I can think to do is go to the store and find a cord that on one end is S-Video and the other is the normal type, to convert the video stream. I don't really have any electronics experience, so that's just common sense talking to me. Therefore it's probably wrong...

Erm... essentially don't you need a Bi-directional S-Video to RCA (as it is called in the States it seems) cable? I should think that if you simply ask for that you should get it.

Otherwise, based on what you have, you need an RCA Male-to-Male cable to connect the end of your adapter with your TV RCA in (the yellow socket).

I quite surprised it didn't come with your lap-top really.

The red and white cords need to come from your audio out jack (headphone jack). Look at the stuff on this page to get an idea of what you need to do both video and audio:
