Quick Mf question

here's my sorc's Eq:

Sorc:
Tal armor(Um'd), belt, ammy
Dual ist'd baba
2 pdiamond'd mosers
38 chancies
22% mf 28% cold resist rare boots
30 nagel/27 nagel
shako(Um'd)
Resist sc's(to max all resists except poison*18*)
Mf sc's

Merc:
Reaper's Toll(Amn'd)
Leviathan(might socket with ptopaz)
Crown of Thieves(gonna get tal helm and socket with ptopaz)

i do lots of MF runs..ive done well over 500 Pindle runs and the best i've gotten has been Skullders, shaftstop, and arioc's needle..my friend does the same..has less mf and he's been finding super uniques like crazy..am i just unlucky or am i doin something wrong?

Why dun u vary the MF spots? Imho, it's just your luck. Or perhaps your friend might have other sources?

i do vary..i mf Meph alot, i Do pits(im pure orb, my merc downs all immune to cold along with my static field spams)..i dont do andy tho..her poison crushes my merc


where all would u recommend i mf?

It sounds like you're doing fine for places. Personally I do Pindle, Meph and Andy in every run. Then sometimes I'll add in Pits, Cows or Ancient Tunnels. If I get a big stock pile of full rejuvs I'll do a Baal run. By the way, I'm a pure cold Bliz sorc.

As for your merc, you can always put on an Andy's for better resists. Personally my merc uses Reapers (thinking about putting a Shael in it), upgraded shaftstop and Kira's. He has max resists and usually I might have to feed him 1 rejuv for the poison but that's it.

I have about 400MF now and the best I've found (after 300+ runs) is Kira's, +2 Templar, Death's Web, 3% BK Ring, a couple Ravenfrosts and a SOJ off NM Andy. Now I have a couple of MF chars, Bliz, Meteorb and necro so I just try to make sure I don't get bored. If I start getting bored I'll switch to another char (like Necro) since the play style is different.

But I think it's all luck. The only question I have is whether MF is harder against higher level monsters. against Pindle I can't remember the last time I got a unique but I get at least 1 unique from Meph and Andy every 2-3 runs. But Pindle seems to give uniques FAR less often.

I'm a newbie to D2. I bought the game when it first came out, but started playing about 6 months ago. Hopefully my experience will help.

Last US West Ladder Softcore season when I finally made a MF character (500+ MF), I had a Meteorb Sorc that was finding alot of uniques running off NM Andy, Meph, Diablo, and Baal, eventually doing Hell Andy and Meph. NM Meph and Diablo droppped the most unique items with Andy and Baal dropping less items, unique or not.

Then, at about 2 months till the end of last season, something appeared to have changed on the server side. I would rarely get a good pop of items off the bosses. They would rarely be unique and the amount of items that pop out of them was significantly less.

To me, my opinion only, something has changed on the server side. All of a sudden, the drops were significantly less from NM and Hell Meph, which in turn i guess meant less chance for them to be unique. (Cause of less items)

I guess it's hard for me to explain, but when you do like 20+runs and nothing really "pops" out of the bosses and one time when you forget to switch to MF gear (Gull and +25 MF shield) and you kill the boss and some unique items pop out, it just makes you wonder.

I'm just looking at this picture from my short experience, but I'm sure this is a normal pattern for the long timers. Hope this helps to anyone that reads and may be others can add some of their insight.

As we all are, you are simply unlucky!
Just vary your places, so you dont get too bored, look for Countess inbetween, Do Andy, Meph, Diablo!! (if you can, killing the 3 seals can be hard, need a Dual-tree build for that), Pindle, Baal, Pits, Mausoleum, Ancient Tunnels,.....

Atm i really enjoy Diablo runs. Just open the seals, kill the 3 bosses and BAMM all falls dead, since Diablo spawns. Then just finish of big D. He dies fast.

Hmm, about doin diablo runs, what gear/build would you consider best? Cuz i like pure sorc trees as of .10

.. I rush ppl in hell w/ all my pk chars and I get shakos / skullders / etc all the time from andy / duriel...

Maybe the other guy's more about quantity than quality... Less chance of goodies but kills 3 mons while you kill 2?
