Questions on the Warrior Monk Build

Well seeing as the guide thread seems so have gone inactive, I was hoping I could get some advice here.

I REALLY like this build. I'm stoked to make one. But the thing is, there is no way in hell I could afford the runewords suggested in the guide. So I'm pretty much trying to play this character on a budget. I looked through the amazing gear suggestions and this is what I've come up with that I think I can afford:
Weapon: Fleshripper
Armour: Duress probably. Could I switch out Duress for a Smoke if I can't get a hold of an um?
Gloves: Trang Gloves
Shield: Probably Stormshield socketed with a P Diam.
Helm: Guillaumes
Boots: Upped Gores
Belt: IK Belt
Amulet: Highlords probably. I was also thinking of using The Cat's Eye, but then I realised I have absolutely no mana leech. I'm thinking I'll use a Crescent Moon? Do I even need mana leech? I was also thinking of using Atma's, seeing as I'm not going to be going to Tristram, and the amplify damage would make my kicks that much deadlier :p
Ring 1: Cheapass Raven
Ring 2: Carrion Wind
Switch: 2 +3 to Shadow Disciplines claws for casting fade, venom and shadow master

With this setup, I'd have 70 CB, 73 DS and 60 OW not using Highlords or Duress. With Duress, I'd have 85 CB, 73 DS and 93 OW. With Highlords, I'd have 85 CB, 93 DS and 93 OW at level 80.

Would this gear work out? If not, what should I change out to fix it?

I was also wondering how this build fares in Hell cows and pits. Would I be able to solo hell cows/pits in 8 player games?

The warrior monk is a specific variant that focuses on kicking and blade fury. Blade Fury for damage is really only possible with the multi-rune choices JanusJones chooses. However, the basic kicker build works just fine without the heavy blade fury emphasis. Blade Fury is still a part, as most of the kicking mods carry over to Blade Fury as well.

Kickers excel at taking down bosses and can do reasonably well in crowds with maxed Death Sentry.

Your gear layout looks good. You got the major items: Crushing blow, resists, speed. After that it is all fine tuning.

Mana leech is good. You will want one source, or you will be drinking a LOT of blue potions. The ring slot is usually the best place to pick it up since you can get a lot of resists from the amulet slot. (I prefer to use BoS for the IAS and FRW, so no Fade buff for me.) Raven is one of the best rings ever, so I usually end up with a magic or rare secondary ring that has mana leech on it.

Deadly Strike does not work on kicks, and your Blade Fury damage will be fairly small, so I'd consider not even adding it up. I'd also consider something besides Highlords for that reason. Maras, a rare with resists, or Metalgrid are the standard options.

For curses, the choice I see comes between Life Tap and something to boost damage. Personally, I usually go with Dracul's gloves since they make you nearly invincible.

A minor suggestion for belt - a String of Ears or Verdungo's Cord will put you up to 45-50% DR, depending on the belt quality.

If your main goal is to run Pit/Cows, then a pure kicker may not be your cup of tea. A kick/trap hybrid (I call them Dancers) is probably the best way to go. Traps are much better at damaging areas, and will help take down the life of beefy cows to make Death Sentry more effective, and to help chase the little Fallen that run all over the place in the Pit. Unfortunately this means you will want to stack as many +skills as you can find, which creates some competition between gear slots. I help go with this by getting +skills gear on switch (spirit/spirit or a pair of +2 sin skills claws).

Another Question on the Warrior Monk Build

So I've put this build together with all of the high end equipment. The problem I'm having is getting past the point where CB isn't very effective. I have to sit for quite a while kicking away at the Ubers to finally kill them. I was wondering if there was something else I could do to get rid of that last little bit of life quickly. Watching it shift back and forth, and almost drop to nothing, then regenerate a little, then almost drop to nothing again, and then regenerate a little more gets pretty frustrating after a while. Any insight would be appreciated.

Here's my equip:

Last Wish Zerker
Pheonix Monarch
COH Archon Plate
Um'd Guillaumes Face
Shadow Dancers
Laying of Hands
Mara's
R Frost
Manald Heal (for mana leach)

Ixian - i assume your using venom, and u should be, so poison scs are useless both in terms of adding damage AND stopping regen... but you do seem to lack any OW, which is a problem... you need some way to stop them regening(which is why youre having a rough time finishing them) and since poison wont work, ow is the only? way to do that... you need it from somewhere, be it from dracs or some other source... hope this helps

You should be able to solo hell like that, if youve got dsentry mixed into that build you should be able to mop up about anywhere. I assume that your starting ladder? If so youve got a build pretty much like my own cheap *** sin and will do fine.

Now, if you use Dsentry (I would recommend a full 20 points here) you should gain your self the ability to wipe the floor at player1 in cows, the corpse explosion is awesome. The tricky part is gaining that first corpse, herding is recommended.

WSK is trickier, again Dsentry is a major weapon in your arsenal, again you will have to be careful and choose your foes carefully. Remeber to CoS to its fullest extent all the time, and liberal amounts of MB vs Gloams, when I was learning how to deal with WSK intially I when straight for MB vs Gloams thinking it was the safest route but actually I found it was much easier to cast Gloams (which prevents them for firing) and then use MB for added safety if needed.

Oh and yes! mana leech is a good idea
