Questions about MF Poisonmancer

I'm making an MF Psnmancer (weird, right?) and have some questions:

Okay, well here's my ordeal, this is the gear I plan on using (*that I can afford) and I need some suggestions:

Helm: Peasant Crown (P Topaz'd) (Have :D)
Gloves: Chance Guard (Don't have)
Armor: Skullder's Ire OR P Topaz'd Vipermaji Skin ?? (Don't have either)
Belt: Goldwrap (don't have)
Weap: ??? [No clue] (Using Spine Ripper Poignard at the moment)
Shield: ?? (At the moment, I'm using Rhyme which is pretty good)
Boots: War Travs (Actually HAVE :D)
Amulet: +MF Magic Ammy (??) [Have]
Ring 1: Nagelring [Don't have] (at the moment I'm using a magical +MF ring)
Ring 2: Nagelring [Don't have] (again, at the time being I'm using a +MF magic ring)


Skills:

PsN Nova: 20
PsN Dagger: 20
PsN Explosion: 20
Lower Resist: 20 (?)

I was thinking about putting some points into summons like 5 in Raise Skele, 5 to Skel Mastery, 5 to Revives, 1 to [each] Golem, 1 to Golem Mastery, and some pts in Summon Resists. Is this a good idea?

I planned on mostly running The Pit (I'm new to Pit Mfing) on Hell...and Nightmare Prime Evils (Meph, Diablo, Baal). Anyone/thing else I should run?


If anyone could help me in acquiring any of the items; that would be awesome! I don't have many good items to trade though (I'm not dirt poor but I am pretty broke).

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :thumbsup:

Get a Ptopazd shako, it has built in MF.
Get Vipermagi with PTopaz.
get a deathweb with a 5/-5 psn facet for wep.
for sheild get a PTopaz'd or psn facetd homunc head.

Dont max Lower resist, that only increases your radius. put maybe 10 pts.

Dont go half-hearted into summons. your skeles will die fast if you can max RS and get a a couple pts into SM. You can get a golem and revives though, they should be fine with just a few pts.

Here's my suggestion for a Poisonmancer/Summoner. I might plan on building one next weekend, except using Trang's Set.

Helm: Shako w/ Perf Topaz
Gloves: Trang's gloves (25% more poison damage...get these)
Armor: Skullder's/Vipermagi. Skullder's w/ Perf Topaz or Vipermagi w/ -5% poison facet.
Belt: Trang's Belt
Weapon: Blackbog's Sharp if you can't get a Deathweb (which goes for oodles of HRs), +3 Poison Nova "White" Bone Wand (shoppable)
Shield: Trang-Oul's Wing (socket with -5% poison facet)
Boots: War Travs are good, Marrowwalks are another alternative
Amulet: Either +3 PnB amulet or +1-2 Necro amulet with MF
Rings: Nagels I think would be fine

3-piece Trang's gives you 25% more poison damage, -25% poison resistance to enemies, and when socketed with poison facets, will become even better.

Shenk, Eldritch, and Travincal in NM/Hell or WSK. These make for fast runs that you can do before or after hitting your main targets. For WSK, just kill everything as you're running to Baal.

Shenk, Eldritch, Trav, and Hell Pit runs will net you exorbitant amounts of flawless gems fast. You won't be poor for long. Most of the items of Trang's I listed are available for pgems for a few or in bulk. Even Shakos can be bought for bulk pgems now.

I have not tried it, but one of the Poisonmancer guides I read recommended equipping a Rogue Merc with an "Edge" bow for the Thorns aura, so that your weak skeletons capitalize on their low defense. This is also doable with a Thorns Mercenary (if I was to do it, though, I would load him up with +skill items to raise his Thorns aura level). Might Merc will also make your relatively weak skellies much stronger. Make sure to prebuff them with +skills or +summoning items and they should fare much better.

Also, make sure to get a strong Merc. What you and your skellies may not be able to do the Merc might be able to. In summoning builds, he's an excellent team player. A well-equipped Merc makes taking out bosses, tough enemies, immunes, and other troublemakers much easier.

Armor: Topazed Viper
Belt: Goldwrap - get it or any other mf magic/rare belt, look for fhr/mf

so yeah, i didnt put in the max mf you can get, BUT, i made sure you have enough fcr to be flexible and have enough resist in hell. Necros don't last too long in hell...make sure you always have bone armor up.

And MAKE SURE your lower resist is somewhat high leveled after gear so that it can break immunities.

If your up to it, just go pure poison. Run the pit if you want, and shenks and eldritch are easy. Can't really recommend anything else though since you don't have teleport.

Running meph and andy is very uh, lengthy without teleport/mh. Baal you could run, but probably not worth it in nm (considering what you have to go through.)

Depends on what level you want to stop at, but heres my recommendations:

20 on all poison
1 point on bone armor
1 corpse explosion
balance the rest on lower resist and bonewall/prison

Summons aren't needed in my opinion since your poison after lower resist will be sufficient to take down everything in pit and possibly shenks/eldritch. Those points instead will be placed into bone armor and synergies for added survival.

You basically cast bone armor, then lower resist, then nova and run until they drop, bone wall/prison to stop monsters if needed (bone wall works better imo) and then corpse explosion the rest.

Do you mean getting +40 % light rez by putting Ptopaz into homunculus? If you mean 24 % MF, well...

So I should just go pure poison?
Or maybe I should go:

You only need 60 some points for full poison build. You can customize him as you want.

Lower Resist doesn't need that many points if you can get some decent +skills. If you plan on putting points in the summon skills then don't spread them out as much. It makes the summons weaker than when you put them all on a single summon.

my poison necro had standard set up but i got revives instead of skeletons and gave my merc infinity cv, didnt really use skeletons except asa shield from guys.

i had 1 in lower resist, 1 in all summoning skills and then i maxed bone wall to beef my bone armor

he could kill pretty much everything and the revives killed the poison immune mobs like that thing from baals minion

Should I go with a P Topaz'd Skin of the Vipermaji (for the res) or Skullder's Ire (for the mf)? Can someone (maybe someone who had made an MF Poisonmancer before) give me a good gear setup. So far I I'm thinking it should be:

Helm: P Topaz'd Shako
Armor: P Topaz'd Vipermaji Skin or Skullder's Ire
Boots: War Travs
Ammy: +MF ammy or +3 PnB ammy
Gloves: Trang or Chancies?
Shield: Rhyme or Homunc
Belt: Goldwrap
Rings: Nagels
That seem okay?

I was thinking that if I can get a Homunculus (yeah, right!) then I would use it with a Skullder's Ire (which I probably would also have a hard time getting). But if I have to stick with Rhyme then, I'll get a Vipermaji Skin. Would that be good?

If you can't get your hands on a Homunculus, also consider a "Spirit" Monarch (high Str requirement, but you know this is a beautiful shield) or a "Splendor" Necro head with stats you like (+3 Poison Nova, for example).
