The daggers in my version of the game all say "Dagger Class Weapon" on them. I don't think SM helps at all.

Yep, Durf's right, I blame him for it :D
I just tried it out, sword mastery does nothing for daggers.

Well, if Durf says so, I stand corrected.

I appologise for missinforming you Aruil'Lavain, hope it did not cause too much prejudice.

No, no trouble at all. I tried it myself anyways. It's a shame, I wanted to make a dualdagger-wielding barbarian but it seems it won't work. Thanks for all the help.

You could sub in the small swords for daggers, and benefit from the masteries. You could go Short swords/Gladii/Falcatas, or for faster speed, Scimitars/Cutlasses/Ataghans. Not a true Daggerbarb, but pretty close.

I don't know, one of the builds i wanted to make was a dual fleshripper wielding frenzy barb - with highlords, guillaumes, and gore riders, you would have 75% crushing blow, **% DS (replacing criticals from mastery), and 60% open wounds, all going at 5 fpa (with 60% IAS - shael dagger, highlords, gloves). without having a mastery, you can use those points for synergies, or boosting passives/warcries. since i don't have two fleshrippers, i haven't been able to try this out, but i think it would be fun

That was exactly what I was thinking. Frenzy and two elite daggers, which have considerable damage. I did a little checking and with frenzy and double swing maxed I would be able to do around 1500 damage with each dagger.
    Is that enough for hell?
I will make him anyways, just for the fun of it. And since with two daggers he ought to be a psycho :D I will make him hardcore  .

Probably not. The problem here is not so much the damage you do, but what you will take. With a high amount of CB, you will really increase the effectiveness of the daggers, but all that close range fighting will be hard on your old life bar. I have around 2600 life after casting cries with my frenzier, and I still have to quaff pots and play the crowd control game to be effective. I average around 1500 damage with my two mismatched Frenzy weapons (ali baba, Schaeffers), and it takes just long enough to kill to get pounded on seriously. But, I have no CB at all, so that may be holding me back, especially when teh Schaeffer's hits.

Take those points in mastery and deposit them into War Cry. slvl 20 stuns for at least 5 seconds, and if you are wearing arreats, that's slvl 22, so even more stun length. Nothing can hurt you if they are stunned in place.

Good point, CRG. You could also let the merc kill em while they are stunned...boring perhaps, but quite effective.

I looked at Orlith's post, and while the 50Dex/50Str is definitely correct when actually THROWING a throwing weapon, isn't it 100Str when you're using said weapon in melee?
