question on smiter stun lenght in pvp en fhr

hi all

im trying to find a good smitecounter gear. this is for lvl9 pvp.

lvl9 smite: stun lenght 2.2sec at lvl9 with 9fpa (using a mace)

now i need to find a good counter for this. perfect balance between dmg/life/fhr.


1/ is this correct stun lenght is reduced 1/6th in pvp.
so 2.2sec= 24frames + 24frames +5frames= 53frames stun
1/6th pvp cut = 9frames stun.


i hit at 5.5fpa or 7fpa depending my weapon. so id like to know how the fhr influences the stunlenght.

so if im correct, as stunlenght is 9frames, if i use no fhr, stun lenght is 9frames (not 11 as max smite stun lenght is 9), if i use 20fhr stun lenght is 8frames. so im i correct that with a weapons speed of 6fpa, i need 52fhr, to be able to make a atack in 6frames before the next stun lenght kicks in.

SO:
smiter smites at 9fpa, with stun lenght of 9frames wich puts me in block lock, im i right that if i use 52fhr and jab at 6fpa, i wont be in stun lock and will be able to make a atack?

so:
do i need to reduce stun lenght to 6frames to get out of blocklock, or is 8frames enough? as the smiter only smites at 9fpa.

Let me say this clearly:

SMITE DOES NOT STUN IN PVP.

It does show the swirly animation, but if you keep using smite against someone, there person will never go into blocklock or the fhr animation unless they are knockbacked but that too isnt becuase of the swirly animation. BUT smite CAN cuase stun if you use another attack after smite (i.e. foh, ww, zeal, etc..but not attacks like psn over time, Openwounds, etc..) if you still have a swirly thing above your head.

but u mean, that it only stuns if ur KB'ed and ur not with ur back against a wall and in open ground? ill wait for more comments, but i really doubt smite dont stuns thats just the whole point of a smiter, smite ur opponent into stunlock so he cant make a atack.

Ive played a v/t for bout 6 months and can assure you 100% that smite alone cannot stun in pvp and wtf? How do u get block locked when you cant block smite? So obviously you dont even know what ur saying.....

thats just the whole point of a smiter, smite ur opponent into stunlock so he cant make a atack.

Uh, in pvm, that might be the case, but in pvp, smite all you want: he'll attack you back. What is smitelock? Continous smiting? Yeah, you can do that. But it doesn't put them in constant fhr like MB /w traps does.

I have the feeling that you dont know what stun really is.
When you hit somebody with smite and knock him back, and then quicklly come close to him and hit him and knock him back again so he cannot attack you.<--THATS NOT STUN!
Try dueling a high fcr MB assasin or a singer barb then you will notice what stun is.

well when my jab ama duelss a smiter, I cant hit.

no idea if u want to call it stunlock or blocklock or smitelock or kb-lock (probably this the right way to call it ) or whatever. but im locked.

when u tell that if in pvp u continuesly smite, ur opponent will hit u back, how do u explain smiters owning bowazons, just by charging them and smite them vs a wall to death without the amazons being able to fire?

ive duelled mb assas and singer, and i know how they work. maybe im wrong what locks me in this duells, but i know one thing, im locked somehow and i cant hit back.

could u tell me how i can calculate the fhr needed so i dont get locked instead of telling me im using wrong terms?

This isnt about fhr and it isnt a lock of any kind.
You cant atack because smite hits in 6 frames and your atack hits in 9 frames.

i hit at 5.5fpa and smite at 9 fpa. so there must be a lock of any kind.

Smite can achieve 6 frames and thats a fackt, so dont tell me Im wrong. :rant:
Also if you are using jab, your first strike can`t be faster than 9 frames the following strikes can be faster, just like zeal which can have 4frames but the first strike is at 9 frames. Zeal hits at 9/4/4/4/4 frames.

You're wrong. Smite doesn't hit 6 FPA at Level 9.

I was talking of using smite with no lvl restrictions.
Once again sorry for any missleading information.
Please write down what weapon you are using what ias you have and what skill you use.
