Question on 'Leaf'

According to this:

Leaf doesnt work in orbs that 'arent magical' but that there arent any that arent according to that (sorry if that makes no sense!), but it might be fixed in later patches. I have found a nice 2 sox orb that isnt blue, but does give +17 to mana. Will leaf work in this? I know they are only tir + ral, but Ive just started playing again & dont want to waste them.

Leaf doesn't work on orbs period, that is wrong.

Gutted. Anything useful I could do with that 2sox orb then, runeword wise?

Not really. The only runeword that works in a 2os Orb is Venom, and that doesn't help a caster (or melee build for that mater) at all.

Wind works in orbs as well, but it doesn't really help at making them better as well.

That screenshot can also be misleading since only the top of the actual stave rw can be seen, so one could mistake the tooltip with the fully visible orb.

On a side note - you can shop o/s Staves form vendors in Normal. It can take some time to find the one with the right mods you want AND a "grey" (non-magical) but it's possible. That's if you really want to make a "Leaf".
