Question On Hydra Sorcs

How much energy/vitality should a hydra sorcs go for? I suppose dex and str will need to be enough to use gear (im not going for max block), but Vital/Energy are confusing me... Keep in mind I will be using 2 sojs and will have 1 point in energy shield.

Thanks for your time and expertise :xsmile:

With two SoJs, Silkweave and/or Frostburn you'd probably already have enough mana to leave energy alone...

i dont think you should use energy shield unless you have enough skillpoints to get it to decent lvl's
go all vit if you cont spare enough skills

i made an ownage pvp/pvm hydra sorc. it had 150 energy, 130 str and rest in vit, i got about 800 life, with sojs 1300mana, wich is works v good with energy shield.
12k fb dmg
3k hydra dmg

upg perf UMmed viper
maras
spirit
hoto
no sojs  some rare suckey noob rings
sandstorm(for the huge str)
magefist
and lots of str charms heheh

Wait, so you have 1300 mana with sojs, yet you go on to say you dont have sojs... Please clarify on this.
The basic idea I got out of this is that 800 life, 1300 mana are ideal targets...

Pulio... with energy shield.. what lvl will it be after whatever +skills you plan on having.. about?

If you don't use Energy shield, you don't want any energy, just dump everything into life. You won't need much mana, especially with hydra.

With just 1 point in it, you'll have to see what percent it gives you after +skill equipment. You shouldn't need too much mana though.

As he said... ES is all that will merit a Hydra build any energy...

You are a fire build... your lvl of warmth can cover you easily! Or at least it should...

If you feel like using ES you need to go all the way with it. That means getting your ES up to lvl 45 and dumping all your stats into energy. This is a build you have got to be prepared for; major twinking. If you go half way with the ES it will make you quite comfortable in many situations, but eventually you will land in a bunch of monsters and ES will drain you of all your mana so you can't tele out = dead sorc.

My crappy ladder hydra sorc gets her mana regen from.... act2 merc with Insight :/
I can cast hydra as much as the timer allows me to, but cause I'm a newbie the sorc sucks :)

Wait, so would I be better off adding to energy and using energy shield, or leaving energy alone and going all Vit and no energy shield?

Like I said, it depends on whether you have the equipment or not, and on whether the attack you want to use will let you sink 44 skill points into another skill.

This is purely PvP. I had no intention of dealing with PvM at all. So does that still mean I would have to go all the way with Energy Shield and Energy?

ES is useful either way... if you choose to go all vita though, I would suggest to at least try to get max block with a Whistan's or something, it really helps against melee type chars.
