Question! Lowest resist and conviction!

Assume the following:
monster has 100% fire resist
-50% resist in lower resist
-100% resist in conviction

AND THE MONSTER IS UNDER THE EFFECT OF BOTH!

What is the final fire resist of the monster?

Is it 30% (conviction calculated first: 100-20-50), or -10% (lower resist calculated first: 100-10-100)?

Does it depend on which skill been casted first? Has anyone tried this?

The answer is 100-150/5 = 70%. Lower Resist and Conviction percentages are summed then divided by 5 if a monster is/was immune. If for example an immunity is broken by Lower Resist alone (Fire, cold or lightning) the division by 5 would still apply to Conviction, even if it was applied after the casting of Lower Resist. This also works the other way 'round.

but resist lowering from gear works at full power, right? So 4 perfect fire facets would reduce that 70% to 50%?

EDIT: @ Ryann - That was pretty much a useless post. If you do not understand, ask questions until you do. Your post has no question, and no answer...

Does this mean a poisonmancer with LR at like 50% & death's Web lets say 50% along with a merc. having infinity polearm 85% I think can break all poison imune monsters or is that still not enough?

Death'S Web doesn't break immunities.

Only the skills (Lower Resist, Conviction, Amplify Damage, Decrepify) breaks immunities. -%enemy resist mods don't.

After an immunity is broken, -%resist works at full value. If the immunity isn't broken, -%resist does nothing.

No, because Conviction doesn't lower Poison resist. With LR at -50%, you'd only be able to break immunities of 109% or less.

Getting LR to -55% (Slvl 10) would be best against immunities, as it would let you break immunities of 110%. Any higher than that and they're unbreakable anyway, as the next step is 115% poison resist.

KK thanks everyone guess that makes my merc infinity polearm idea useless.
