Question about WW barbs.

Hi, I haven't ever played a WW Barb in D2 before, and a buddy linked me a build.

20 Mastery
20 WW
20 BO
20 Shout

Then the remaining goes into other things.

My question is related to what Mastery I should go. My friend recommended either Swords or a Polearm, but wouldn't two 2H swords be far more effective than a Polearm ever would? He also mentioned something about them being interchangeable, no idea what he's talking about there.

umm well if ure going IK set WW then take mace lvl 20 mastery ( its awesome coz ik set is so aweasome)

and if ure not, then up 2 u, if i wasnt IK i wouldve taken polearm longer radius
