Question about tppk

How common is this? In my first play through (Made level 52 before screwing up) Never got 1 attempt on my life, granted only played from 25-42 in pub rest in private. Second play I made it to level 36 before getting tppked (3 attempts this time, 1 successful) Eh is all i could think, It'd be different if It would have been legit because it would have been my fault, but this was a baal game (yeah you could say my own fault for joining pub, but why should i or others be punished for wanting good xp) All the monsters just had died was about to save n exit was waiting for NG to be typed and WHAM. It was so lame that I wasnt even really that mad, more like uh..... what was the point of that, oh yeah, it was probably some stupid pimply faced kid who gets off on that chit. Oh well, lesson learned.

Unfortunatlely HC is partially ruined b/c of tppk, 1-25 ur fine 25-40ish during norm baals you just have to watch out for high lvls mainly, if theres a high lvl sorc/ bowazon/ or boner then be wary, nm baals are the scariest, dont bother doing hell baals unless you know the group. I mainly solo when i hit 75ish in hell mfing

I don't play Hc but i do think baal & chaos runs would be prime target games for those lame people to tppk.

Anything that involves a high level hosting a game leveling lower levels would kinda be fishy if they were a stranger id imagine.

This is partially incorrect. Anyone can tppk at low lvl using enchant(from a mid/high lvl enchantress) and a ranged weapon(normally an exploding arrow bow). Dont think youre safe in prebaal games especially if someone is enchanted or if you enter a game where enchantress may have already buffed someone.

True story. I never play near anyone in chant games, regardless of if I'm chanted or not.

I was leveling my chanter at the same time KevinOverEast died and need to rebuild. I have to confess it made me giggle when someone was surprised to have been TPPK'd by one of the more notorious ones on the realm, he was 18 at the time ^^

Its way too common , I run alot of pubby baal runs norm and nm, I'd say out of 10 runs, we'd have 3 attempts on avg. Everyone and their brother is noob script kiddie these days, it's about the same odds or greater then doing pvp and running into fc zons.

Except for the freak accidents, Good Pvm players never die to the game, its the pks. I've made a habit of building my char to withstand the tppk'ers and I suggest you do the same.

Before every run , I Fade my pally from treachery for an extra 60 res, then put on my smoke armor for 50 res. (treach then goes back to the merc) I then pop about 6 thawing pots and keep a couple in my stash. I use 2 ravens for cold sorb , Hotspurs for the 90 fire res and tgods for light sorb. Between killing I keep on the applicable res aura to hedge against whatever flavor sorc is in the run (usualy cold). So as long as your not partying a freakishly high level sorc, your pretty darn safe this way. Dont be the first guy through a tp either. Its been a long long time (knocks on every wood object in the room) since I've been tppk'd. Ive been hit by them on occaision, but the they do little damage running a setup like I use, in fact I've been healed by firebaal tppk's (using rising sun ammy)

For a easy fade spot, while the sorc or people are running to the throne, head over to the river of flame wp and stand in the fire next to the wp, this will trigger any CTC's

On Bone necs and windies, and the rare zon, I simply make sure that I am never in their path of projectiles. If you stand super close to them (ontop of), they cannot tppk you. Of course its better to play it safe, if you feel fishy about someone , then leave. Try not getting hit and try not to get in the habit of thinking your beyond tppks. The best protection is not to get hit in the first time, and if you do run gear to minimize damage.


the items I'm suggesting are not beyond the means of even the casual players
Smoke is A Lum
trechory is a A lem rune.
A low dex raven can be had for a mid level rune or a bunch of pgems.
small price to pay for protection it grants

In my personal experience, I have found that constantly staying on the move, far away from whatever high level character that may be leeching you is a good idea. If you are playing as a sorceress, this may mean teleporting around, back away from the monsters near Baal. Also, if the high level character is helping a friend level, and also possibly tppking, it makes a lot of sense to stand close to said friend. This way the high level will not find a clear shot towards you. Master Zap, I am sincerely impressed with your anti-tppk methods, though I know I for one am not rich enough to use that sort of gear. My methods are more geared for a poorer player Also, if tppk is getting you down, play in games with us forum-goers, everyone that has friended me from diabloii.net has turned out to be awesome.

that'd be great if i could get some ppl from this forum to play with, i use to run with 3 guys HC but after my necro died from PvM because of my lack of attention, I stopped playing HC for awhile and havent seen all 3 on at once since the first or second day i met them..... I play HC on Jeembo (although ill have to start up once again)

Awesome tip that CTC Zappy, it really makes buffing a lot easier.

There's also the old saying "out of sight is out of mind" which applies very well to baal runs. There are plenty of spots in the throne room where you can completely make yourself invisible to all the other players except for their minimap.

You can stay 'behind' any of the pillars, or use the large flags next to baal's pedestal. This tactic once saved my ear when I was leeching behind a pillar, zon goes hostile and downs another sorc right beside me in the open. I doubt the zon even realized I was there! None of the GAs hit me either, the pillars give good cover.
