    1) connect to BNet - 1.12 patch will download and install
    2) copy mpq files missing in your install directory from d2Lod disc to install directory (it should be music.mpq or something like that, maybe one other file)
    3) run D2 again (someone got an error message about missing CD, but it disappeared after 10 seconds, D2 started afterwards and the error message didn't apear after.)

So, did you automatically download the patch through B.net, or did that not work? If it didn't work, what was the message it told you?

As to the manually download you have 2 options.
    1. Wait until their servers free up, and then try. With Diii on the way, it might be very busy for a while.
    2. Try a different server or mirror.

Again, you ask a question while providing virtually no insight. Are you currently on v1.12 or not? If not, download the patch from another mirror/server, or WAIT until the servers aren't full.

    Then do what Hrus says.

Edit: I shouldn't post this, but I will, just because it's a VERY easy to answer question. FIND and READ the patchlog. I will not post it here, because you can find it within 1 minute through google.com. That log will tell you what you need to copy. This is only because this is not the first time you've shown little effort to look something up. My apologies for the abruptness.

Hrus thanks very much i got it now.

    i read the patch message

    - If all required Diablo 2 '.MPQ' files are installed on the
hard drive, the game will no longer require the CD to play.

For users that originally performed a 'Full Installation'
and wish to run without the CD, all '.MPQ' files should
be copied from the Diablo 2 CDs to the Diablo 2 directory.
Most users will only need to copy D2Music.mpq from the
Diablo 2 Play CD and/or D2xMusic.mpq from the Lord of
Destruction CD. Mac users will need to copy these music
files and rename them to 'Diablo II Music' and
    'Diablo II Expansion Music' respectively.

and i tried just the D2xMusic file but i reread your post and did all .mpq files and it worked

    thanks again
