Question about Runewords and number of sockets:

If I want to use a "Steel" Runeword (Tir + El), will it work in an item with more than two sockets available? I found a Flail with 3 sockets and was hoping I could build "Steel" and maybe even add a bit onto her!

Is this possible? If so, when can I add that extra item? Can it be anything, or is it restricted to one of the other runes, gems or jewels?

Nope. The number of sockets must match the number of runes required.
