Question about MFing

So I have a level 76 pure blizzard sorc that I use to MF hell baal with. I havn't completed the quest for him so I just join public games where it can't be completed and kill him. I don't have very good gear, around 100 +/- MF that I have on when I kill him.

My question is, I have been doing this for a few days now, and at least 9 out of 10 unique drops are spears/polearms of some variation. I have probably vendored at least 1 of the majority of unique polearms already. Is there a certain MF breakpoint that nets you mostly a specific type of weapon, or do I just have a long, continuining, streak of bad luck?

Unfortunately mf doesn't influence the treasure class that gets selected, only the quality of the item. This means you're just unlucky that Meph isn't dropping from the desired treasure classes yet. Just keep running and eventually the right treasure class will be selected and the item chosen gets unique quality. Even with his quest drop this can take many many runs.
