Question about ilvl and crafting

Lets say I use lvl 95 char

1.
I buy Magic Boots/Demonhide Boots/Wyrmhide Boots from an npc
I gamble Magic Boots/Demonhide Boots/Wyrmhide Boots from an npc
Will both have the same ilvl?

And just to make sure,
2. The difficulty(norm, nm, hell) has no effect on crafting\gambling, right?

Re: Question about ilvl and crafting

Buying from a vendor in Nightmare & Hell produces an item level that's always character level+5. It's capped at 99, so your level95 character will purchase level99 items. Item levels for things purchased from vendors are capped in Normal difficulty, and are quite low (I don't remember the exact levels, but it's something like: act1 = 12, act2 = 18, act3 = 25, act4 = 30, act5 = 45).

Gambling produces an item level within the range of +4 through -5 of your character level. So you'd gamble level 90-99 items with a level95 character. Difficulty has no effect on gambling.

Re: Question about ilvl and crafting

Ok thanks for the info.

Now just to make sure:
If I gamble amulets @ normal act 1 and craft them @ normal act 1
(magic amulet + pame + ral + jewel)

Will it be the same as doing the same thing @ hell?

Yes, but if you do it on hell mode, you can sell the crap results for up to 35k while it's only 5k in act 1 normal.

Shopping is usually the better way to do it except the desired base item cannot be shopped at all (amulets and rings and a few elite items). If you don't want to craft elite items (which might have pretty high str reqs), buy them in nightmare. They will still have an ilvl of 99 with your L95 character. In normal mode they have caps, as said.
