Question about facets

Hello, I've looked everywhere for this and couldn't find any info so here's my question:

I understand that enhanced damage jewels need to go in weapons (as opposed to armor) to get their full effect, but does the same rule apply to the rainbow facets since they add an increase in elemental damage %?
