Question about a Ranger

What would be best, dmg wise..

Faith Bow level 15 aura and lvl 20 holy shock/freeze

Ice Bow level 18 holy freeze aura equipped and lvl 20 holy shock/fanaticism

Ofcourse this will be buffed with + skill items..

Both Bows are Matriarchal due to Ias problems I can't solve with Grand Matron.

Or maybe.. there is another, even better bow I shud use?

I am focussing on holy shock / freeze and fanaticism

If I use the ice bow, no points would be needed in holy freeze, wich I can then distribute over salvation and fanaticism

If I use faith I'll be keeping fanaticism at max 5 base points (to reach ias breakpoints) But also less points in salvation due to maxing holy freeze..
In turn resulting in lesser damage

So if someone could help me out ?

just so you know a paladin can't equip mat/gm bows.. just a heads up =)

Really? Are they amazon only?

Is there another way for a pala to wear Ice or Faith?

Edit: Ah I checked arreat and the Mat/GMB are class specific, I did not know this

This leaves only the Blade Bow as viable option to make Ice or Faith in..

And since I'm non ladder, It will be very hard obtaining the bow from a person who was actually stupid enough to make ice/faith in one of those..



Can someone help me out with this prob?

you can make those runewords in non-zon bows.
ie, great bow, ward bow, crusader bow etc..

Ice is too good, frost novas pumpin out everywhere is sick. I'd suggest Ice blade bow, with points into holy shock, salvation, res lite and res cold. Dump a pt into fanat for ias probs. Merc wise, act2 normal defensive with infinity for some siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick dmg.

Like I said, I'm non ladder..

How the hell am I gonna find a person Who made it in blade bow
And also happened to carried it to non ladder during the reset

I will continue searching for ice.. but as it seems I will not be getting it due to this huge problem..

Any other suggestions? Maybe one of the unique bows is good enough??

Or maybe a non ladder runeword solution??

Without Ice u'll suffer a huuuuuuge damage loss. I guess u could use one of the uniques, like windforce.

I decided to drop the shock aura, and use fire instead.

Am using HoJ bow now, with Freeze Aura..
No shock.. Damage is lower, but a very steady average attack..
Sometimes with shock got very bad min damage..

Faith is made in non-zon bows for mercs. You should be able to trade for one if you really look around for it.

There are a few merc ice's even on NL just gotta really search for one. Might think about using guided arrow from(cant think of the bow right now in a rush to get back to work) while using holy freeze and having an act 2 might merc with holy freeze for crowd control. Put on some open wounds/knock back/monster flee if need be to keep them back while your going at it.
