Question about a Guided Arrow build

I want to build a Guided Arrow Amazon because it seems fun, but I have a major question revolving the build before I start:

If a Guided arrow pierces a monster, does it continue to be guided after hit?
Also, I got Demon Machine for the build (66% Pierce chance). If I get the pierce skill, does the result stack or it calcultes it twice (66%+Skill Bonus or 66%, and if it fails it checks the skill chance?).

Also, what is best to Socket in Demon Machine (1 Socket).

Although I haven't played for months, I do believe that guided arrow no longer pierces an enemy. Back when I still played, GA was very powerful in that one arrow would hit an enemy 5 or 6 times and I am fairly certain that 1.10 changed that.

As far as pierce is concerned... I am not sure if multiple pierce percentages will add to one another, or if one is checked before the other. However there are two nice zon equipment that will give you 100% pierce... Bruiza and the sharkskin belt.

hi...tethir is right, guided does not pierce. but..you can have your secondary shot to pierce.

guided arrow is a must for an amazon, also, when you have good mana leach, you will be able to fire ga infront of you and by looking at the mana bulb you will be able to tell if you hit any monsters.

as to 'demon machine' forget it. it does not have the punch that other bows/crossbows have.

Actually you don't have to look at the bulb, you just look at your character and watch for a blue swirl.

Just warning you, you'll probably need a very, very high amount of damage on your bow if using GA as a main skill...

hi.. i am using ga on my normal shot. i have a upped unique rune bow, damage is 440-1015 (more to come) add the ga+100% damage then add the chance of level 23cs 70% and you will find that there are not many monsters in hell that you cannot kill with ease.

secondary arrow is a level 23 fa + points in ca/ia + 79% chance to pierce and i have good crowd control. even with cold immunes the slash damage of the fa still blinds them.

add the most important gloves for any bowamazon ..loh....and it makes killing very easy, even in dark passages, tunnels.

couple points:

1. razortail only gives %32 to pierce, you can't ge 100% with that alone.

2. buriza gives over 100%, so you can get max pierce with that alone.

3. if you put GA on left click, you can't use it to scout for monsters unless you hold shift.

4. it is possible to get multiple hits with one guided arrow. if you aim past the monster, it will hit once on the way through and again when it turns around and hits the monster. either way though, the skill or mod "pierce" is useless with GA. penetrate and inner sight as well.

5. GA can still be blocked, even though it has the "always hits" property, so it is very very weak in hell on top of not having synergies.
