I think this is a GREAT idea!! Really GREAT... I can play my game until level 50th and at that point I can "switch" to my final build! I think about some builds that require to save point till higher levels to be effective, but to do that you have an unplayable chars for early levels and need to be babysitted...From what Ive learned, the respec resets all attribute and talent points.
You get 3 free respecs, 1 per den of evil quest done.
To gain more, you must cube together 4 different essences from Hell difficulty act bosses.
Duriel and andariel drops the same essence, and the remaining 3 act bosses drops their own each. Simply cube them together to create the token.
Cant see why golden bird might be a problem, since its a static health bonus of +20 life per difficulty.Unfortunately, the possibility of respecs opens up a whole new can of worms. I'm wondering if any bugs with it have been reported? Imagine, for instance, that respecs fail to give you back the skill points for Den of Evil/Radament/Izual, the life for Golden Bird, or the stat points for the Lam Esen Tome? And imagine if there's a bug that allows you to gain any of those rewards a second time, or an infinite number of times, for the cost of one respecialization?
Perhaps even Blizzard understands how devastating such bugs would be... but given their track record (like with the ethereal bug) there may yet be something weird in the new patch.
I really don't mind at all... I'm playing a 10 years old game... I'm impressed that their still making patch... and if it will be bugged... ok, **** happen!Unfortunately, the possibility of respecs opens up a whole new can of worms. I'm not sure about this but I'm thinking it'll be okay.Unfortunately, the possibility of respecs opens up a whole new can of worms. I'm wondering if any bugs with it have been reported? I certainly wouldn't rule out the possibility of bugs, but coding this shouldn't be that difficult. The database the game uses to save characters should have an easy time tracking which quests you've done. For instance, when you activate the respec, the game looks and sees that you are a level 30 character (29 skill points) and you've completed normal Den/Rad/Izual, so it gives you 32 skill points. It wouldn't reset those "flags" in the database, so I fail to see how this should be a problem. Anything is possible, but it seems unlikely.Unfortunately, the possibility of respecs opens up a whole new can of worms. I'm wondering if any bugs with it have been reported? But why would it even need to distinguish between quest skill points and normal leveling? It simply takes all skill points that you have used(whether by quest or leveling) and give the equivalent amount of free skill points. It'd probably be harder to distinguish between the points gained from quests and the ones gained from leveling.
