Q regarding mb & es (in conjunction)

Good evening,

I have a max block energy shield sorceress and I was wondering is it even worth going for max block?

The reason I'm thinking this is because sometimes, when I am hit, the sorc seems to take longer recovering from a blocking animation then from when she does not block and is just absorbing a hit with energy shield. She uses a Santuary shield in a tower, right now. Perhaps this isn't the best shield for her.

I guess my main question is, does a sorceress recover faster when hit with no block and Es, then when she recovers from a blocking animation?

My other question is, does the sorceress go into fhr animation more easily when trying to block with es then with no block and es?

I hope I got the idea I had across, I know I didn't type it out the best here.

Thank you for reading, if you have any info on this I'd appreciate your sharing it.

*edit*
Sorry, I forgot to mention that this sorc hits the 86% fhr bp.

The time it takes for you to recover after blocking depends on how much faster block rate you have. Without any sorceress will take a 9 frame recovery time about a third of a second. To decrease the amount of time of that animation gear yourself for more fbr like the 20 fbr already included in santuary. As for being hit in general that depends on faster hit recovery. You are sent into hit recovery animation when you get hit by a attack that does 1/12 of your total health or an attack that stuns. Energy shield will only help with reducing damage taken to health so if you have a strong enough energy shield that would prevent you from losing 1/12 of your max health then you would not be sent into recovery animation. So to answer your question they're two different animations and it all depends on what you are being hit by.
