Pvp Singer Guide 1.03

yeah, i just played against some high lvl jerksins, they do townguard and kill you during body retrieving. But as smbd mentioned, honorably trapper use aggresive style, and mindblast, i just hoped better strategy in this guide then "wear tgods". Absorb is lame, in some duels it can be restricted

tgods just reduces the damage on the trap, it has nowhere enough resist/absorb to cancel out even a 7k trap, when good trappers get 11-12k.

you wana die in four hits instead of eight?

even if a togds gave you 20 hits off traps, it would still be favored towards the trapper since its far easier for the trapper to hit than the barb. no duh

so whats your theory? anything above 75 reisst is BM? 75 block is then BM, because 75 block + 50 dr equals 87.5% resist physical. so even if the assasin and bar had equal chances of hitting, the barb would be at a disadvanage, with togd.

o yea, have you ever played a wc barb against a good trappper? how many tries do you think it takes to get in a shot, past mind blast knocking you back, trap stunning, and th fact that each one of his traps does as much as your warcry, and his shots are unblockable, and he gets five uninterruptinble shots while u get ONE.

k, tgod is a bad "strategy"? how about not being stupid, mr anti max resist

Idiotic statements like this *pee* me off beyond belief. So it's not lame to have a fully synergized 10 or 11k attack? It's not lame to build a completly flawed character, so much so that you don't even have 2 different sources of damage? With synergies in 1.10 you can get certian elemental attacks up to enourmous amounts of damage. But it's at the cost of versitility. You'll only have one form of attack. A form of attack which can be completly negated. Why do you think absorb items exist? IMO it's to force 'smart' players to not put all of their eggs in one basket.

I can honestly say that all Pure Lightening trappers SUCK. All Pure <insert elemental caster> SUCK. They are flawed PvP characters, plain and simple. A good trapper will not have 1 SUPER powerful fully synergized lightening attack, they will have 2, slightly less powerful DIFFERENT forms of attack.

A 'good' trapper could care less if someone absorbs their lightening damage, because they'll fall back on a powerful fire attack, or a martial arts attack that they've built up at the expense of being able to say "oooo .. look at me .. I have a 10k lightening attack."

Pure lightening trappers HATE it when someone absorbs their attacks.. they ***** and moan about it all the time. Why, because they think they're so 'leet' for having such massive damage, and when you absorb them and they can't do anything about it, you've basically just pointed out that they're a moron for building such a limited character. It's kinda like the idiot barbs in pubbies that say "Dammit Sorc, stop running away and come fight me .. " because they have no way to deal with you they want you fight them in a way that ensures their victory. Sorry but it dosen't work like that.

When you play PvM with a pure lightening trapper you will not be able to kill everything because of lightening immunes.. pure PvM trappers know this, and either accept it .. or find some way to deal with it. Pure PvP trappers should do the same. If you build a flawed character fine, but stop bitching about it when someone points out your idiocy by negating your only form of attack.

[OK, I'm done my rant now.. :)]

while agreeing with most of your post, you're whining about single-element attack chars in a thread about a singer pvp-barb, whose only means of attacking is physical damage, not even a chance at a decent attack elsewhere, as the points to get to berserk are required elsewhere, and you don't have any chance to dish out decent melee-damage using say azurewrath, famine or other high-elemental/magic damage-weapon, not to mention your attackrating would suck entirely so you wouldn't hit anyone with halfassed defense or better.

same goes for pvm, due to the sheer power of fully synergized chars, alot of people accept the fact that they won't be able to deal with everything, and usually find ways to work around this using a merc of some sort. (a good idea for pvm and physical builds like this one or say the pure strafeazon would be an act 2 merc w/ reaper's toll, to negate some, if not all, of the physical immunes out there, or amp damage charges, same as alot of elemental builds may carry a wand of lower resist. often these builds are geared towards a specific area of mfrunning or pvp, where it is indeed mostly considered BM to overexcessively use absorb and stacked resists. like mentioned in a mageslayer-sin guide, what's the point of duelling if you're at no risk in a fight? an example would be my own mageslayer sin, who, at lvl 47, is a real glasscannon, as i tend to duel sorcs and sometimes other casters who're 20-30 lvls higher than me, and while i can kick the stuffing out of most of 'em, their attacks are indeed dangerous to me, one-two hits will mostly kill me. but the fun in playing this char is how some of those townguarding public-game lame *****s whine, piss and moan when a lvl 47 just kicked their butt.

now, on to the guide itself, it's quite nice, i'd say, geared towards people with plenty of items availible, but that's life if you want a strong dueller these days, and especially with some of the more rare builds, especially with barbs, who are some of the most equipmentdependant chars out there.

What's with the 200+fcr bug?
Reaching the lower BP is simply not good enough, your damage will suck. You're barb will not be good and it takes forever to kill anyone half decent.
Singers are pvp. I switched up SS for dual perf hoto's, had all uber gear but still it seemed impossible to succeed. Sure dueling "noobs" is easy no matter what you do or what you wear and sorc's just get pwned because they have low life and DR.
I've made a few singers and every time they're fun as hell but fail when it comes to the 80+ leet dueling matches.
Please prove me wrong because I'd like to make another one.
Oh and I take it this is an old forum. What about the torch?

For the singer the 200+ bp is crucial - no singer can deal without it - i think there was another thread about singers somewhere here and somebody explained quite welll how a good singer should be made...

So to reach the 200 mark, one would have to use:
2wizzys - 100
arac - 20
circlet -20
x2 rare ring - 20
magefist - 20
enigma - zero
ammy- 20
=== 200
Is it possible to make a crafted ammy with 20 fcr? if not i guess a magical 3wc 20 fcr or else some rare.?
So fhr bp's are purely charms and reaching 86 will be a mission on it's own.

Yes, crafted ammy's can have up to 20 fcr. Magical ones, however, can't. Closest you could come would be a 3/10.

I once crafted a 21 cast ammy ... other mods sucked but it was 21 cast and its not so hard to hit the 86 fhr bp i mean with charms and stuff - 7 warcry/fhr gc's and ur ready to go - small charms - lifers with frw or mana...

Thanks guys

I'm level 81 and finding out that a 20fcr barb ammy is quite rare, at least on ladder.

nothing in created games or trade channels.. (sigh)
Well i'm gunna keep looking.

Oh and I guess im still considered poor since i have no anni. So that answers my own question about using the wizzys. For dex at least.
I've got rare -15requirement jewels in them atm, however im looknig for better ones to replace. but still 64 dex is a stretch without the two unique charms.
Not that yall care about my delema. heh
Well thanks guys.
I'm gunna start crafting myself some ammys. Wish me luck!

Re: Pvp Singer Guide 1.03

I find this barb to be the best key running char ever. Fcr + life: speed + tankablity what more could you ask for? (dmg)

This character could have been one of the best PVP characters. Only problem is the silly damage it gives, even with +50 skills into it.

Re: Pvp Singer Guide 1.03

Is it reasonable to assume that a dueling War Cry build must have 200%FCR and Enigma in order to be plausible in solo and somewhat offensive in teams?

Is it likewise reasonable to assume that without Enigma or only 105%FCR it's relegated to defensive/support roles in teams and almost any competently outfitted player can do that?

If the answers to both of those are yes, then wouldn't a PvP section of a PvM guide suffice by stating absolute necessities and specific strategies?

If so, then might a rewrite be in order for the entire singer category, as both (or all three, if you count the links in the two stickied guides) are quite old and don't account for much of what is said?
