PvP Charger

Yea, I'm thinking of making one. But i have a few questions...

(1) Would a one-hander w/ a sheild variant be any good? (For the extra Massive defense)
I.E.- 20 Fanat, Charge, Vigor, Might, Holy Sheild

(2) Or would a two-handed w/o a sheild variant be better? (For a Maximum damage glass-cannon build)
I.E - 20 Fanat, Charge, Vigor, Might, ?????

(3) For a two-handed variant, what would the last skill you would dump points into be?

(4) The equipment for a charger is the basics right?
I.E.- Botd, Stone, Coa, GoreRiders, Dungos, Angelics, etc. etc. or are there any other uniques/rune words that should be pointed out here?

(5) Ias, Leech, Ds, Ow, and Cb are all taken into affect in Charge right?

(6) While using vigor with charge, is your IAS increased with your faster run/walk or does it deal more damage? Or is it just plain faster at attacking?

(7) Is Vigor viable as using for your main aura or does it pale in comparison to Fanaticism/Concentration?

(8) If you were to use Concentration/Fanaticism which would you use for a Charger?

(9) Should you even worry about PDR% since you'll be pretty fast?

(10) When choosing your equipment what should you focus on most?
I.E.- +Skills? +IAS? etc. etc.

(11) If you were to do a two-handed variant, would dex be kept at base? Or would some points be dumped in it for the extra AR boost?



I can think of a couple more questions but these are just some that had me thinking...also, on the Diabloii.net website, it says "Charge counts as a melee attack, unlike the Barbarian's Leap Attack, so you can't use it on targets with Thorns, or while cursed with Iron Maiden". I know that in PvP it is considered non-melee though right? Another, thing i apologize if any of these questions were asked before... I just started paying attention to the Charger since I don't see many on UsEast and would like to see if one could kick the **** out of perhaps a WW'er or Smiter or one of those other non-melee power builds. Thx.

A few things about charge for what I know:
-dont use a shield becouse when u run block rat is reduced to 1/3 (dont know for sure);
-dont necesary use high def armor(when running monster's chance to hit u incresse,same to other players);
-fanaticism aura is superior to conc,adding AR and biger damage;
-IAS dont affect charge;
-look for DR items,resists,fast run walk,+AR,vitality,charms with +max damage/+AR;
-u should put in dex as much as weapon reqiures otherwise u live it at base.charge+fanaticism+angelics+AR charms I think are enough;
-use vigor to run after quick chars such assa and when u see them clik charge on them and change aura to fanat but u can hit them with vigor first couse they will remain a little bit stuned and can change to fanat aura then;
I'll wait for sugestions too because I just started a charge pala.

If you make a 2h charger, I'd reccomend eth botd war pike. Its got crazy range (5), huge damage, and fairly low requirements. Put points in blessed aim instead of holy shield; it gives a passive 5% ar bonus for every skill point there. You might wanna consider an soj or frosties to take care of your mana problem.

use 1 hand/shield... a 2 hander is fine until someone Else hits you... then your done. 1 hand/shield makes you 10x more versital and gives you more kills in the long run.

OW, CB, DS, work - leach is not noticable in PvP and still isnt great in pvm, and ias effects absouletly nothing

10) things like open wounds, deadly strike, +max damage, attack rating, resist, high defense etc are good things to look at.

I dont reccomend two handed at all...

Seing you would like to kick the **** out of a ww'er, you are going to want a shield... try charging into a eth botd ww barb without a shield and get back to me.

Maybe, I should ATTEMPT to write a PvP Crusader guide....hmm. That way if I mess up on anything there's always someone there to flame and me and I guess can get everything answered that way. Or is anyone else planning on writing one?

I'm working on one, but I'm no expert, id prefer it if an expert did it, but I dont do pure charge paladins, I combine em with smite for Dclone.

1.,2. I Would deffinetly go with a weapon and shield. 75%block is worth having less dmg(infact not so much less) and you get another slot for mods.
3. I would dump the points into blessed aim for the 5% passive or resist auras to boost your max res.
4. Yes charger gear is preety straightforward.
5. Besides IAS.
6. Using vigor only speeds up your charge nothing more.
7. Can be usefull when Shift-charging, but not as your main aura, you should use Fan.
8. Fan is a LOT better.
9. Yes you will be fast, but that doesnt mean you can go without pdr(for example a wind druid could kill you).
10. Well affter achieving all defensive requirements like: max pdr,max res.....
And having decent AR You should aim for as high raw damage as you can get.
11. I would leave dex at base. Angelics for example give you a lot more AR then you would get from dex.
