PvP Charger Gear

I have looked around on the forums and for the most part only found pvm Charger information. I just need to know the gear for a 1Handed weapon Charger
Getting any gear should't be a problem so list the best possible gear also I was wondering if I should use Pcombs or Ar gcs

Since weapon speed doesn't matter when charging, you should use BotD in a legendary mallet, which is the most damaging 1h weapon in the game. As for other gear, I wouldn't think it would be that different from other setups except maybe a little less defense oriented. I've been told AR gcs are better for pvp charging.

This thing (ebotd legendary mallet) simply doesn't exist. Legendary mallets can spawn with up to 4 sockets max, while we all know that botd is consisted of 6 runes. And even if it was possible ,grief would still be the top 1h choice for the ability to boost an 1pt smite sky high. Note that you would need to find an ethereal rare legendary mallet with 410%+ ed that self repairs (so you can hit 2xLo in there) in order to beat grief for an 1h. Nigh on impossible.

grief + hoz = gfg for charger, also allows smite as a back-up attack. if you REALLY don't want a smite backup (y?) then an e-Death Ettin Axe is pretty swish.

i keep an e-Death Decapitator onhand for when i feel like being a 2h punk!

as for charms: mine are res/life/fhr sc's by and large. if i want a massive AR boost, i'll switch in angelics. in general, the opponents against whom charge works particularly well tend to be fairly lightly armoured, for the rest: smite. charge gets royally screwed over by block.

Oof. My mistake there...forgot about the socket conundrum. Allow me to remove my foot from my mouth and disagree with you though: although grief is the best thing to pair with a shield for smiting, it's no good for actual charging. Grief is best paired with skills that don't enhance weapon damage (like, er, smite) but it's horrible if you're using a skill that does enhance weapon damage [like charge, which can get to around 1600% ED with might on I believe (or was it fanaticism?)]. So I guess it would be optimal to keep a grief+hoz on switch to smite, but have your main weapon be a chunky damage one hander. Unless you're prebuffing with your switch weapon anyway, in which case, forget the eDeath ettin or whatever that bad boy ends up being.

ex-squeeze moi?
how do you figure this? the +damage on grief if +BASE damage, so skill based %ed affects it just fine TYVM. its a HUGE base-damage weapon. to get the "most" out of it, you need lots of off-weapon & skill based %ed.

the build for whome a Grief is NOT suited is an Avenger. the +damage isn't taken into account for vengeance calculations.

I was under the impression that the +damage did not add to base damage. If it does, looks like I'm tasting ten toes right now......I recently returned to LoD and I'm still not 100% up on the higher level runewords.

It does for most things, though not for some (eg vengeance, blade fury).

Keep chewing on those toes. :wink3:

the main thing you need to know: Grief is INSANELY overpowered.

So I hear. It looks like it makes BotD completely obsolete, at least damage wise. But then again, BotD did that to Silence back in the day. It also has made smiters almost as annoyingly ubiquitous as hammerdins.

Back to charge....when pvping one handed, do those of you who have chargers use holy shield? The glitch is maddening, but I would think the defense and blocking bonuses would be vital in pvp. I'm thinking of using my 2h frost charger for a little pvp action, after some gear changes. Let me know.

I got kinda bored w/ my charger after a few weeks, but he was fun. I actually dumped some pts in later lvls into light res aura and just went around as a farcast cop lookin for people that justify fc scripting as a fair way to duel.
I used... eDeath zerk (sometimes grief), HOZ (Lo'd), Full angelics, Kiras (ed/maxdmg jewel), Dungos, Gores, AR/Life GC's, Res scs.

make a libby...hammer/charge
Amen to that. I love my libby. You could even just do a more charger (ar) oriented set-up and still get 4k hammers. A nice deterrent vs. any smiter or max block melee char.
