PVP auradin

I know bargani asked this before. But I just want more input

Basically, I know there are 3 choices for auradins

the one where FIRE and LIGHT are used

the TORCHADIN

the DREAMER

now Which one, paired with the right skills (Charge, FOH?) will b most effective after most chars in pubs. And which will be most effective in taking down tanks. If at all possible.

Auradins are terrible against melee characters. If you want to survive against them, hoj/dragon is a must, because of dr. You could branch out into being a daydreamer (holy fire/foh) but anyone who stacks at all is going to murder you. My advice for taking down melee characters would be to increase your ar drastically. Hsarus, metalgrid (def is just as important), ar/life charms and so on. Prebuff the enchant, and hope that you hit them when you charge.

For any non-tank character, a dreamer is almost always superior. You even have doom to combat melee characters, but you will lack dr. Personal preference there.

i was thinking of something like a aura/charge build, but I cannot decide on which aura. =/. I heard diff things from diff ppl. But in pubs, I have never seen one with dual aura yet

Hmmm so either way i go, Fire, Dreamer, Or Both. I am going to be defeated by the almighty melee tanks? >.<

and about Dreamer owning casters, wouldnt fire + dream = faster killing?

lastly to ouallada: what kind of auradin are u talking about in ur first paragraph

Dreamer for sure. You got free weapon / armour slot, so you can wear armour with DR (ie shaftstop) v melees and you can also use high phys dmg weapon (grief or BotD) v stackers / absers. Hoj/dualdragon is easy to stack, hoj+dragon + dual dream´s damage output is insufficient

ok dreamer it is. I have a sacred rondache with 44 resist 3 socket already, should i make a dream outta that?

another Q: is it usually wise to max holy shield on dreamer?

My hypothetical build, please answer my questions in BOLD and do not flame me please. Alot of things I still dunno about d2.

Skills:
1 Prayer
1 Defiance
1 Cleansing
20 Resist Lightning
10 Vigor (rest here)
20 Might
1 Holy Fire
1 Thorns
1 Holy Freeze
1 Holy Shock
1 Sanctuary
20 Conviction
1 Smite
1 Holy Bolt
20 Charge
1 Blessed Hammer
1 Holy Shield
Total pts: 102 - 12(skill quest) = 90 Lvl 91 Completion (vigor last)

Gears:
Helm: Dream BV Always
Shield: Dream Sacred Rondache +44 base res Always (no sacred targe atm =/)
Armor: CoH against casters, Ber'd Shafstop against melee/zon (eth shaftstop wont help against smiter right?)
Belt: 24fhr/25str/life/res belt, 12+ dr dungoes(38 from shaftstop would cap at 50)
Gloves: Dracs
Boots: Treks
Ammy: metalgrid against casters, angelics against some high def chars?
Rings: 20/2xx ravens, angelics
CTA and Spirit on switch
Inventory: 9x pcomb (lifers too expensive) 1x anni 1x ptorch 10x 20 vita sc. (if short on fhr from switching, fhr sc to make up)

Switch:
I sorb if i feel like it. obvious setups here.

Stats:
str: dont think i need any: heavy equip prob Dream BV.
(25[base]+19[anni]+19[torch]+12?[dracs]+10?[treks]+25[belt])
***However, if switching to dungoes and shaftstop combo, str cannot be reached to use BV, thus
5x 2+ str scs may need to be used??
%%%Anyone recommend me putting str stat in?

Dex: Max block with holy shield with battle command (in 20 dex raven and angelic combo setup)
... With the DREAM shield equipped.
Is this wise?

Vit: Rest

Energy: None

Actually, a holy-fire based auradin is much better than a holy-shock based auradin, simply because people in general don't carry much fire-stack.

The best auradin I fought was fire-based, my barbarian was readily handed to him (zealed) until I properly stacked (Kira's guardian, Fire resist ring and Nokozan's relic).

you didnt list your weapon, if you are using a zerker, which is 138 str, then you have to add str point,
also i donno if its better to use just use 20 life/ar scs instead of the pcombs since you are not using lifers

another suggestion, you could use a ebotdz, which is what i am currently using now, less str require, and a +30 all stats, which boost your block rate by a whole lot
i already played with my auradin in pub duel games quite a few times, here is some experience that i had,
1. impossible to kill windys and smiters, and hdins with the exception of team plays
2. 100% winning rate vs casters (so far), cold sorc could be a problem tho
3. can do nothing against really good bone necro, unless u get a teleport ammy or nigma to teleport away from the wall
4. suprisngly i was able to kill some bvc, with patience... very long duel and you have to hope your charge land on him after his ww.
5. about 70/30 vs bowzon, 50/50 vs chargezon

honestly, against a charger/smiter or any combination that include smite, a charger/auradin variant has no chance IMO, i am currently at 2.7k health without cta bo, 86 fhr lvl 25 conviction, 75% block and about 13k dmg with charge ( i only maxed the charge skill, and no might or vigor).

From the build you listed before, I am not sure adding might/vigor will give u that much of a difference that make you able to kill those tanks or windys. So i may suggest this, don't quote me on this though,

20 resist light
20 charge
20 smite
20 holyshield
16 or 18 into conviction (if you use COH, metalgrid/maras, ptorch, anni and cta boost that gives 7/9 skills)
rest into might/vigor or whatever

and maybe use fort/ber'ed shaftstop with dungos to hit 50% dr

by the way, i am thinking of remaking my auradin to something like that i listed above, the auradin i am using now is still with +20 resist fire skills that i screwed up on.

also, some comment on this if you have other ideas, thanks
